このアルバムの評価は、世間一般では、大変低いです。

ですので、初めてBOWIEに触れるような方（BOWIE初心者）は、
このアルバムを聞く前に接してもらいたいアルバムが沢山あります。
まずはあなたの好きなジャンルの時代のアルバムから
購入していって下さい。

BOWIEは、歴史のあるアーティストです。
ジャンルという枠にこだわらない音楽性を持って、
1960年代から現在までポップミュージックの第一線でありつづけてきている
彼だからこそできた偉業です。

あなたが、BOWIEを知り尽している人なら、
このアルバムを無下に下等評価はできないはずです。
それは、どんなミュージックを作っても、そこにはBOWIEの

魂があり、愛らしさがあり、野望を

感じられるからです。

私も、このアルバムに４つ星をつけるわけにはいきませんが、
それでもBOWIEを愛する人は必ず聞いてもらいたいアルバムであることには
変わりはありません。


BOWIEの歌声は、いつでもBOWIEなのですから！！！

　優れたギタリストを選ぶことにかけては定評のあるボウイ。このアルバムで起用したギタリストはピーター・フランプトン。このギタリストはライブなどのロック感覚にあふるストレートなプレイをするが、それが悪い意味ではアルバム全体(特に後半)を平板なものにしてしまっている。

　後にボウイ自身、この頃はアーティストとして死んでいたといっているが、アルバム・タイトル曲などはハーモニカを効果的に使用し、メロディも優れ、秀逸。

1987年の作品。
前作でのカバー曲中心の内容を一新。
気合いが異様に入ったアルバム。だが、気合いが入りすぎてゴチャゴチャになってしまった感がある。
しかし、ここでのボウイの声は実に多彩。70年代のように、とはいかないまでも非常に張りがある。
この後このアルバムが酷評されたせいもあり、鬱状態になってしまうボウイは次の作戦にまさに特攻隊の如く向かって行く。
