   ビートルズをモチーフにしたアニメーション映画『イエロー・サブマリン』。そこで使われたビートルズの楽曲15曲を、新たにデジタルリマスター＆リミックスして、1枚にまとめたのがこのアルバムである。
   すべての曲が65年秋から68年初頭の間に録音されている。映画と同様、この時期のビートルズが凝っていたサイケデリックサウンドを聴かせる曲が大半を占める。このアルバムの発売当時、ファンのあいだで賛否両論が飛びかったリミックスサウンドを、オリジナルと聴き比べるのも楽しい。（星野吉男）

音がクリアになった。ただそれだけの印象しかありません。もし可能ならオリジナルアルバムもリマスターして疑似ステレオをリアルステレオでだしてほしいなぁ。ビートルズってアナログ時代はミックス違いやヴァージョン違いはいくらでもあったんだし、リマスターによって音が良くなるんだったら文句ないね、俺は!

本当は買うつもり無かったんです。
でも、映画中に流れた"Hey Bulldog"があまりにカッコ良く、見た次の日から禁断症状に陥り、買ってしまいました。
とりあえず、この曲のために買っても損はしないと思います。
私の中では"rain"と並んでジョンの曲で一番好きです。まさかこんな素敵ソングをビートルズが作ってたなんて！

ポール好きとしては、間奏のギターソロがたまりません。
他の曲ではゆるーい感じがたまらん"Only A Northern Song"と"Baby You're A Rich Man"のベースが際立ってて良いです。

ビートルズが日本で騒がれだした頃は、ビーチボーイズの方が好きでした。
高校の放送部で、毎日ビートルズの依頼（リクエスト）があり、かけているうちに、
ビートルズの曲の録音技術のすばらしさにはまっていきました。

制作側にすばらしい人か、すばらしい技術か、すばらしい感性があったのかもしれません。
このアルバムで、曲名を覚えているのは
「イエローサブマリン」「 サージェント・ペパーズ・ロンリー・ハーツ・クラブ・バンド」「 オール・ユー・ニード・イズ・ラヴ」
です。

聞くと、ああ、なつかしいと思うものばかりです。
ある時代を作った録音群、編集群のひとつとして貴重だと思います。

自分では、結局編集技術については、最近まで体系化してきませんでした。
ソニーの動画を含めた編集機材をそろえて、編集技術の講習を受けてから、
再度、ビートルズ曲の編集技術のすばらしさに感動しています。
