このＣＤは、イタリアのＣＡＭから発表された"Rota Tutti Filmidi　Fellini”と”Nino　Rota　Musiche　da Film"からニーノ・ロータの自作選集として日本で編集されたもの。演奏は、ニーノ・ロータとフェリーニが監修し、カルロ・サヴァーナがオーケストラの指揮を執っている。

ニーノ・ロータこそ、巨匠の名に相応しい。ニーノ・ロータが作曲したとりわけ有名な１７曲が納められていて、まず馴染みのある曲ばかりだろう。
「ゴッドファーザー」「ロミオとジュリエット」「太陽がいっぱい」「道」「ゴッドファーザーPARTII」など、曲だけ聞いていても胸に染み入るものばかり。
素晴らしい永遠の旋律がズラリと並んだ画期的アルバム。

映画ファンばかりでなく、音楽ファンを唸らせると思う。

もともと映画音楽のファンではない。ただ映画は好きなので見に行ったり、DVDで見たら、いい音楽は心に残る。で、このCDを聞くと僕の心に残っている名曲はほとんど「このお方」の作品であることが判明。こうしてみるとすごいですね。
個人的には「太陽がいっぱい」が思い出とともにNO.１ですね。
