教授のピアノ曲集。
自らのルーツに立ち返り、「一番やりたいこと」ではなく、
「一番素直にできること」をさりげなくまとめた感じを受けた。

ほとんどピアノの音色だけで、
リスナーに豊かな色彩を感じさせる術はさすがの一言。
他のどんなスタイルよりも、素の教授の音楽が楽しめる。

そしてまた、音の透き間に内包されたアーティストのメッセージに、
このアルバムを単なるＢＧＭにはさせないだけの威厳を感じる。
何度聴いても、14. の美しさは絶品だ。

　決して癒されるために聴く音楽ではないと思う。むしろ聴いていると悲しくなる。けど、マイナスの感情の時にしか聴かない。余計マイナスになるのに、聴いてしまう。独特の美しさが、静寂をもたらすのかもしれない。裏ＢＴＴＢも鉄道員が好きだし。。。

　坂本龍一が　芸大を卒業した「教授」と呼ばれる音楽家であることを　強く思い出させる　極めて美しいアルバムであると考えている。

　ここで坂本が演奏する曲は　エリックサティや　ドビュッシーを思わせる、というか　むしろ対抗するような　静かな野心を感じさせる　クラシックなピアノ曲である。YMOや　いくつかの派手な映画音楽で見せる坂本の音楽が　１００ｍ走を思わせる疾走感に満ちているとしたら　このアルバムでは彼がゆったりと座っているものを思わせる。座っている坂本は　小さい声で何かを語っているが　ちょっと離れたところにいる自分には　聞き取れない。そんな幻想めいたものを感じさせるから不思議である。

　こういう言い方が正しいかどうかわからないが　とても「誠実な」アルバムです。
