レッチリをやめてほとんど人間さえやめかけてたと思われるジョンがなんと奇跡のレッチリ復帰!ジョンも立ち直り以前の素晴らしいプレイを披露!このアルバム、まだジョンが復帰したてなのでスタジオでいろいろやることもなく4人の生み出すグルーヴを生々しくパッケージした感じ。個人的にバイ ザ ウェイより愛聴した。<br />

　レッチリは、実に様々な魅力を持ち合わせているバンドであるのは、みんな分かってるとは思うんだけど、私にとってのレッチリの最大の魅力は、カラカラに渇いたサウンドでやるせないフレーズを出すジョン・フルシアンテ。 　そして、彼が、復帰したのが本作。"one hot minute"に何か物足りなさを感じた人、"under the bridge"が好きな人には、とてもお薦め。

これまでにない無駄な力の抜けた感じ、ジャムってる感じ、一発で録った感じ、そんな音が妙に生々しいんだよな。特にメロウな曲（３，４，６）でのベース、ギター、ドラムの絡みっぷりはこれまでになく新境地。でかい音で聴いてみてよ◎。ここまできたらファンクうんぬんはもうたいした問題じゃない。音を通じてアンソニー、フリー、ジョン、チャド４人の生のフィーリングさえ感じられればそれでいいんだ。ただのうるさいだけのバンドには出せない静かだが強烈なエネルギーがここには詰まってる。
