はっきりと銘打ってはいませんし、本人も公言していませんが、
この曲の詩は、自身の今までの、パクリだなんだと言われることの多かった作曲活動への内心を書き綴った詩ですね。B'zでの稲葉氏しかり、彼らは詩を書くとき、それとなく断言はせずに受けての想像に任せるような形で、自分の内心を書くことが多いようです。私が興味深かったのは、自分でも内心確信犯だった（？）ということが伺いしれるところです。これは長年B'zファンをやってきた人間にとっては、一番聞きたかったところでもあると思うので。
「変りたい　変れない　オリジナルじゃない」
この曲からもうすでに何年も経ちました。私の目から見ると彼は未だに「オリジナル」という呪縛のなかで苦しんでいるように見えます。永遠のギターキッズ・・・もっと切磋琢磨してほしい。

なんと松本孝弘が歌ってしまった（爆）
……歌についてはノーコメント。
ただ、このシングルはお笑いだけで済まされない要素を複数はらんでいます。

まず、B'zに見られるようなバッキングの使い方。
歌って、歌って、その隙間に細かくフレーズを挟み込む。
そのフレーズの一つ一つが、結局松本孝弘そのものなんです。

しかしギターソロはどうもはじけている。
歌詞の世界が、稲葉浩志の持つ「緻密なエロさ」や「リアルな装飾」を全て取り去った荒削りなので、それが反映されているようです。
歌詞も意味深ですしね（笑）

そしてカップリングの「ONE FOR THE ROAD」を甘く見てはいけない。
優しさやぬくもり、たとえるなら午前五時ごろの空気のような静寂をたたえた名曲です。
目をつぶって聴けばかなり違います。

ギターの「広がり」を感じてください。
