買っちゃいました。。。すげえ音！！ええサウンド！！
皆々様のレビューのおかげでございます！！！

再結成後の来日公演は大阪２Ｄａｙｓから始まりました。
初日に行ったわたくしは、アンコールで Speed King と Fireballを聴けず悔しい思いを
しましたが、今となってはいい思い出です。。。

数々の名盤、名作を世に送り出したＤＰですがこのアルバムも負けてないですよね。
ハマる人はとことんハマる後世に語り継ぎたい名盤ですよね！

個人的には、Gypsy's Kissのあそこのソロ（リッチー節炸裂！！！貧弱な表現ですみません）
がたまりません。クラシカルなサウンドがレインボーでもディープ・パープルでも堪能できます。。。クラシック好きのわたくしでも十分満足出来ました。。。

おっさんたち（失礼！）のプロの演奏が凝縮されていますよ。。。

　初のリマスターとなった「再結成DEEP PURPLE」の第1作。機材が古すぎて直すにも限界がある1970年代の作品でもなく、既に十分音が良くて差が出ない1990年代の作品でもない。この1980年代の録音が一番差が出るのだ。音質・バランスとも、大きくレベル・アップしており、ボーナス・トラックも1曲追加。オリジナル・マスターで所有している人でも、買い直して損はないと思う。

　初期のスクリームは出なくなったイアン・ギラン。従って超高音域は使えなくなった。だが、それを補って余りある、メロディーの充実振りである。ジョー・リン・ターナーをフィーチャーした RAINBOW の活動で、ハードポップを通過してきているため、誰にでも分かる良さがある。楽曲が、力任せの「勢い」ではなく、丁寧な「旋律」の組み立てで出来ているのだ。特に「歌メロ」完成度は、歴代作品でも最高かもしれない。

　「決め」の曲である「Knocking At Your Back Door」を素直に1曲目に持ってきているのも良い。渋く枯れた味わいのギランの声も、“深紫”のイメージに合っていると、個人的には思っている。ギンギンのメタリック・ヴォイスでは出せない幅みたいなものが、このアルバムには溢れている。

　ベテラン・バンドの復活作だが、産業ロックやメタルで育った1980年代の若いファンにも、このアルバムは良く売れた。完成度から言って順当だ。決して、昔の「名前」で売ったわけではない。

確か当時再結成そのものは話題になったが、作品そのものは評価的にもセールス的にもさほど大きくなかったような気がする。自分自身は当時聴いた時正直あまりピンと来ず違和感があった。ところが最近の充実したパープルの進捗ぶりに感銘を受け聴き直した。すると一気に引き込まれパープル・アルバムのベスト５に入るほどの傑作であることを遅ばせながら認識した。

「ギランとレインボーの合体」といった言い方がされるけど、これはまごうかたなき５者５様による純粋なディープ・パープルである。往年の路線を安直になぞらず、むしろ過去を断ち切って新しいスタイルを作ったことは、もっと評価されていいと思う。

ミックスのせいか音がくぐもり気味で抜けが悪く感じてたが、この新しいリマスター盤はボーナストラックも追加され、目が覚めるように音が良くなってる。パープル・ファンやこれから聴こうという人は迷わずこのリマスター盤で聴くべきだと思う。ライヴ盤の『Nobody's Perfect』も同様リマスターで音質が俄然良くなり、評価替えのためにも聴いて欲しい。
