Grandaddy（グランダディ）が1997年に発売した1stアルバム。

Grandaddyは元スケーターのジェイソン・リトル（Vo.G）を中心にサンフランシスコ郊外のモデストで結成された5人組（2006年解散）。
この1stアルバムは英NMEから「次世代の最も洗練されたローファイ・ポップ・レコードのひとつ」と評された。

この様に、Grandaddyを語るときには「ローファイ」というキーワードが含まれ、比較対象としてPavement（ペイブメント）等が上げられる事が多い。
たしかにこの1stアルバムの内容やGrandaddyのスタイルから考えれば、そう表現されてしかるべきであろうとは思う。
ただ、もしこれからGrandaddyを聴く方がいるのなら、このバンドが一介のローファイバンドを超える可能性を充分に持ったバンドであったという点は理解しておいて欲しい。

優しくかつ物悲しく歌われるメロディ、脆く切なくそして時には力強く奏でられるギター、止まってしまいそうなリズム隊。
最高ではないか。

好きな曲は、ヘナチョコな電子音にノイズギターによるコードストロークを絡ませるという独特の曲作りが不思議な雰囲気を作り出している「A.M. 180」、アップテンポな曲調をベースにサビで爆発するノイズギターが印象的な「Summer Here Kids」、泣きメロ満載ながら微妙に捻くれたアレンジを響かせる「Laughing Stock」、ぶっきらぼうなピアノと優しいメロディが絡む「Levitz (Birdless)」等

勉強不足で申し訳ないです。
何で言うんだろうか、、、音一つ一つはあまり凝った創りではないのですが、心地よいのですね~。
何でだろう？さっき振られたからか！
いや違うな~。

そもそも、2曲目が【28日後】という映画の挿入歌（生き残った4人が誰もいなくなったスーパーでいろいろ物色しているシーン）として使われているのですが、そのシーンと非常にマッチしてまして購入しました。
のんびりした曲調の楽曲ですが、お奨めの一枚です。
