彼女の魅力は何よりも、個性のある声にあります。私は、女性アーティストが好きなので多くを聴いていますが、彼女のような声はいません。そして見事なPOPSの曲がマッチして、絶妙なハーモニーを作り出しています。ヒット・シングルの「オール・バウト・ザ・マネー」＜2＞はもちろんのこと、他の曲すべて、良い曲ですよ。　詩も素敵で、特にSEVEN　SISTERS　ROAD」＜12＞は、アルバムタイトルが「SEVEN　SISTERS」だけに、強い思いが込められていると思います。ぜひ詩も注目して聴いてみてください。

　1998年のメイヤのセカンド・アルバム。前作"Meja"(1996)ほどではありませんでしたが、日本で大ヒットしました。個人的にはファースト・アルバムがどうしても好きになれなかったのでこの作品も聴かずに放置してきたんですが、100円で見かけたので今更ながら買ってみたところ、思いのほかよくてびっくりしました(個人的にはファーストと比べ物にならないほどこっちの方が好き)。10年前の作品ではありますが、安く手に入るし、今でも買う価値はあるかと思います。
　アレンジは前作と同じような受け狙い路線ですが、さりげなく転調したり変拍子が入ったりと曲が前作に比べて若干複雑になり、ポップスとして全体的に成熟したように思います。ざっと聴いて、ヒット・シングル"All About the Money"やボサ・ノヴァ風の"Beautiful Girl"なんかの印象が強かったです。特に"All About the Money"なんか、気がついたらたまに口ずさんでしまってますね。

北欧出身ということもあってか、英語の発音教室のようなしっかりしたウタとともに、極上のギターポップサウンドに仕上がっています！アコギのカッティング大会のようなところもありますが、とても優しい音です。
圧迫感のある当時流行のミキシングに丁寧な音作り、ファーストアルバムも良かったのですが、それを上回る完成度となっています。
発売当初シングルカットされたかどうか分かりませんが、テレビのBGM等でも盛んに採用されていた“ALL 'BOUT THE MONEY”が私考えるベストチューンです！。作品全体の構成、流れも素晴らしいのですが短いながらもこの曲、ノリが本作の良さを凝縮しているような気がします。気持ちが弾みますもんね。ドライブにもいいと思いますよ！シンプルなものを追求した、そんな仕上がりにも感じています。
丁寧な歌い込み系女性ポップスがお好きな方、要チェックですよ！
