主演女優（Beth Tegardenベス・テガーデン）の魅力に参る。知的でセクシーでしかもエレガント。車の事故で幼い娘を失った若い夫婦の家にある日看護婦がやってくる。妻はその事故以来精神に変調をきたし、死んだ娘が生きているかのごとく思いながらひきこもっているのだ。彼女の面倒を見るために派遣された看護婦は、夫の予想に反し、若くて美貌の女性だった。このキャサリンが若い夫婦を次第に変えていく。とりわけ病んでいた妻が再び生きる活力を回復していくのだった。が、一方夫は、キャサリンの肉体を駆使した巧みなセラピーに引きずり込まれながら、激しく彼女に敵意を抱くのだった。それは実は‥。サスペンスフルでエロチックなこの作品は、ほとんど評価もされていないが、ストーリーの面白さとベス・テガーデンの大胆な演技によって見るべき価値のある一級の作品になっている。
