　イタリアを代表するのプログレ・バンドの‘７５年発表作。
　大作志向の、堂々たるスケール感を存分に披露した前作を引き継いだ内容となっているが、そこで見られた緊張感は薄まり、逆にリラックスした雰囲気が醸し出され、甘美なメロディを優雅に奏でられる様は、前作以前の作風に近い。
　その一方で、オーケストレイションに、より強くこだわっているのが明らか。　スケール感の大きさは前作以上で、幻想的かつシンフォニックな味わいが、更に濃くなっている。
　その中でも、アコースティック・ギターをフィーチャーした、シンプルなフォーク・ナンバー5や、それと同様のパートが設けられた、ラストを飾る１０分以上の大作10で、存在感がキラリと光っており、作品全体に上手くメリハリをつけている。
　本作も、バンドの数多い作品の中で、前作と並んで傑作の一つとされているのは、共通点も多いが、異なる性質を持っていて、それが見事に表現されているからだ。
　それはまたアルバム・ジャケット、ブック・レットの懲り方でも納得できる。その忠実な再現も、前作と同じく、作品に対する敬意の証だろう。

イタリアン･ポップの大御所Poohの作品はどれも平均以上の出来栄えなのだが、この作品は飛び抜けて質が高く、彼らの最高作に留まらず、イタリアンポップ史上に輝く名盤と言って良いだろう。1975年にこれだけの音楽が既に出ていた事も驚きで、現在の不毛な音楽状況を思うとき、一体音楽の進歩とは何なのかと考え込んでしまうのだ。白眉は最後に収められた10分弱に及ぶ"ロマン組曲・幻想のミラノ"なのだが、個人的には"Orient Express"も好きで、この曲を聴いてから、いつか乗ってみたいと思っているのだがその夢は果たせないでいる。わたしはことある毎にこのCDやそこに納められた音楽を多くの人に紹介してきた。そして、この音楽を嫌いだと言って拒否した人を知らない。そんなアーティストは、経験的に、彼ら（I Pooh）だけである。

イタリアのポップロックバンド、イ・プーの6th。1975作
基本的にはラブロックバンドながら、その叙情味あふれるサウンドで
多くのプログレファンからも愛されるこのバンド、初期の代表作となるのが
4作目の「ミラノの映像」、そしてこの「ロマン組曲」だ。
ゆるやかなオーケストラに導かれて…聴き手はすぐに、
ジャケットのようなロマンとノスタルジーの世界へと引き込まれてゆく。
キャッチーな歌メロに艶やかなストリングスアレンジが加わり、
ドラマティックかつメロディアスなサウンド構成が素晴らしい。
あくまで歌心を中心にした楽曲は難解さはなく、プログレ、ラブロック
うんぬんを抜きに、純粋に音楽として耳に優しく、心地よいのだ。
ラストの10分を超える大曲の雄大さも聴きどころ。
