　アルバム作品としての整合性にこそ欠けるものの、トッド・ラングレンの仕事を全体的に俯瞰するなら、このアルバム。他にコンセプチュアルなベストもあるが、アルバムごとに作風が変わる彼のこと、まずは全体をカバーするのがよい。その後に、自分の気に入った曲が多くチョイスされたベストを購入すればまず間違いないだろう。

　極上にポップ＆ソウルフルな作品群は甘く、せつない。ちょっと聴けば馴染みやすいメロディーなのだが、彼特有のズレというか、ゆがみのある音作りはとても奥深い味わいがある。
　音楽の選択に定評のあるキャメロン・クロウ監督（近作は「あの頃ペニーレーンと」「バニラスカイ」）もサントラに使用するなどお気に入りの様子だ。

　ポップ・クリエイター＆メロディーメーカー、トッドの底知れぬ魅力を楽しむならまずはココから。

コッポラの娘が監督した映画「バージンスイサイド」では70年代を象徴する曲がたくさん使われていますが、トッドラングレンも多用されているアーティストの一人。

２枚組みでこの値段でこれだけの内容が聴けるのはお得。歌詞がどことなく可愛くて、ジーンとくる。そしてメロディーもどことなく懐かしい感じ。ピアノで暖かく聞かせくれるCDです。1枚目　”I saw in the light"がmy favoriteです。
