3.0 out of 5 stars 重厚なピュアメタル。, 2006/12/22
男気ギタリスト、ジョン・シェイファー率いるアメリカ産パワー・メタルバンドの５ｔｈアルバム。

これまでにダンテの「神曲」や、アメコミの「SPAWN」などといったテーマをとりあげた重厚なコンセプト作を世に送り出してきた彼らが、「人類に破滅をもたらすもの」というオリジナルテーマで完成させたのが本作。

音楽性自体はデビュー以来不変のドラマティック・パワー・メタルだが、過去の作品と比べるとよりダイナミズムに溢れ、聴きやすいメロディを持つ曲もチラホラ見受けられるようになった。
お気に入りチューンは、漢の悲哀を発散するメランコリック・ナンバー＃４“Watching　Over　Me”、ザクザクのリズムギターがアグレッシヴに刻まれるイントロを聴いただけで、「ｷﾀ━(ﾟ∀ﾟ)━!! これぞジョン・シェイファー節！！」と納得の仕上がりの重量級疾走チューン＃５“Stand　Alone”。共に今作のなかでも判りやすいメロディが際立つ佳曲。

欠点と言えば、曲数が１３曲と多く、その上デビュー以来の弱点とも言える雰囲気先行の気が未だ改善されていないため、ラストまで聴き切るのには、かなりの集中力を要するのがやや困りモノだが、質そのものは高いので、そのテのサウンドが好きなリスナーにはオススメ。

かなりかっこいいです！
デスラッシュなメロディにノーマルヴォイスのような
デスヴォイスのような不思議声で疾走します！
ソナタとかすきなひとにもおすすめ！
