初期のシングル曲とコンサート音源、更には北山修、加藤和彦両氏がラジオ番組を模したLP「ON AIR」からも、軽快な前説付きの「アーサーのブティック」を収録。本当にこの人のシングル曲、「凄い」の一言に尽きる。冴えまくってる。本当に向かうところ敵なしってやつか。ちょっとジャックスっぽい歪んだギターの入る「明日晴れるか」、サイケ期のドノヴァンに近い「日本の幸福」、1枚1枚のシングルがとにかく実験的で飽きさせない。"加藤和彦と彼のグループ"名義での「カフェ・ルモンドのメニュー」は粋な作者のイメージに合ったお洒落な曲。他にこんなの歌える人いないって。と、ソロばかり紹介していしまったけど、ミカバンド前のコンサート音源、ミカバンドのレア音源もあり、シングル曲ほどの密度はないものの、ファンなら是非とも押さえておきたい一品。

　先般の再結成ライブ盤『LIVE IN TOKYO』に、1975年神田共立講堂のライブがボーナスで付いたというまことに栄光を称える情報を得て、今か今かと待っている状況だ。ただ、これ以外だと、89年の再結成時の『晴天』、『ライブ・イン・ロンドン』、最初のミカバンド・ボックスセットに付いていたCDシングルくらいしかミカ・バンドのライブ音源はなかったところに、このコンピレーションがリリースされた。
　内容はもちろん加藤和彦氏のベスト（レア？）音源集ではあるが、やはり買いは最後の5曲にわたるミカ・バンドのライブ音源だ。最初の2曲がおそらく73年頃、あとが74〜75年（「マダマダ産婆」は75年）のもので、ミカ・バンドがいかなるバンドであったかを等身大で感じることができる。私は高橋幸宏ファンなので着目すると、73年頃までのストレートなドラム・スタイルから急速にファンキーで突っ込み型のドラムに変貌していくさまを堪能することができる。やはり幸宏は天才じゃ。
　しかしこの小出しぶり、もちろんこれ以外の音源が死蔵されていることを意味している。確かにこれだけの時間が経過しているし、果たして良い状態でマスターがあるかもわからないし、何より東芝は撤退しちゃうの？ってところだし日の目を見るかどうかは未だ分からない。ただ、ここに収められた僅か5曲はとてつもない光彩を放つグルーヴィーなプレイである。共立講堂が可能であるならばおそらくは郡山ワン・ステップ・フェス（74年）やキャロルとの全国ツァー（74〜75年）も音源が残されている可能性が高い。日本の音楽史の中でも相当レアなバンドパワーを持っていたミカ・バンドの音源を整理してリリースされることを望む。

以前に東芝ＥＭＩ盤が出た時に欲しかったのですがいつのまにか廃盤に・・・
ところがアマゾンで発見！（レコード会社違ってたけど）
も〜ホントに感激！！
ミカバンドの日本での最後のコンサート音源が・・・
あ〜もっと聞きたい！
さらなるレア音源の復活を望みます。
