　スパンダー・バレエの作品の中で一番の作品。又、８０年代のブリティッシュロックの中でもこれが最高にいい。

　見た目は地味で、華やかなデュラン2に引けを取っていたが音楽センスはこちらがずっと上。現実離れしていてまるで祭りのデュラン2に比べて等身大で聞けるところが又よかった。スパンダー・バレエには男のロマンがあるんだよね。たくさん売れたのはデュラン2だけど派手なのは反面飽きられやすくもあり、デュラン2は今聞くとちょっと・・って感じがする。要するにデュラン2は子供っぽいカッコ良さだけど、スパンダー・バレエは大人のセンスをうまく取り入れたカッコ良さなんです。

　スパンダー・バレエにはtrueという最高に素晴らしい曲があるので、このアルバムは２番目にいい曲が粒ぞろいで詰まっている感じ。本当にいいもの永遠にいいです。

高校生の頃、いわゆるMTVが全盛期でイギリスを中心に多くの素晴らしいバンドが輩出しましたが、僕の感性にズバッと切り込んできたのはこのスパンダーバレエでした。僕の好みは、基本はロックンロールであること。なおかつ、メロディックで叙情的、ダンサブルで自然と踊れるけどじっくり聴きこむにも耐えるアレンジメント、ボーカルはソウルフルで、バラードもできるバンド、、、。と、なんとも贅沢な嗜好なので、アメリカではボストン、イギリスではデヴィッド・カヴァーディルなんかを中学時代から聞きまくっていました。みなさん、「全然共通点ないじゃん！支離滅裂！」って言う人が多いかも知れませんが、僕にはこのスパンダーバレエも含めて僕なりの共通点がたくさんあるのです。
７曲目のWith the prideなんかサイコーです！このバンドの楽曲全部20年経った今でも全くオールディーズ性を感じさせません。今、１０代、２０代の人達に聞いてもらいたい。男は、歌詞に共感を覚え、女の子はシビレるよ！
きっと僕と同じ嗜好の人がいると信じます！

名曲及び名盤「トゥルー」で知られるスパンダー・バレエ。
８０年代活躍したイギリスのバンドの中でも、ブラックミュージック色濃い雰囲気が好きでしたね。
彼らの超名盤「トゥルー」に続いてリリースされたのがこの「パレード」でした。
このアルバム、カッティングギーターのフレーズが実にカッコイイ名曲「ふたりの絆」を収録してあり、
1. ふたりの絆 2. ハイリー・ストラング 3. フライ・フォー・ユー 4. ネイチャー・オブ・ザ・ビースト
と流れるように続く配置が実に心地よいのです。
そして後半も雰囲気そのままに続き、サビの繰り返しがたまりません。
今回、待望の紙ジャケ盤でリイリューされました。
彼らのファンならずとも、コアな８０’ｓファンなら必ず押さえておきたい名盤ですよ！！
