次のオリジナルアルバムはいったいいつ出来上がるのだろう？　といつもファンをやきもきさせるくらい、じっくりと曲を作りこむエンヤさんなので、それぞれのアルバムの完成度は非常に高く、ベストアルバムをつくるには、全部の曲を収録するしかないのではないのだろうか、と思っていました。

それだけに、このアルバムに収録された曲は、名曲の中でも特に名曲である、選りすぐりの作品ばかり。これからエンヤさんの曲に触れたいと思っている方に最適なものになっています。

すでにオリジナルアルバムをすべて持っている方にとっても、構成の妙といいましょうか、「Orinoco Flow」にはじまり「Boadicea」に終わる一連の流れによって、オリジナルアルバムで聴くのとはまた異なった楽しみ方ができると思います。余韻を楽しむのもエンヤさんの曲の聴き方。次の曲へ続いていく中、オリジナルアルバムとは違う余韻を楽しむことができると思います。

どこか高原や森など、外に持ち出そうと思うときにも、1枚のアルバムに収まっているというのは、なかなかよいでしょう。もちろん、新曲のタイトル曲「Paint the Sky with Stars」を聴くことができるという点も評価できます。

一般的にいえば、四枚のオリジナルアルバムに対してベストアルバム一枚というのは、最適な頻度だと思います。ただ、最初に記したように、このベストアルバムに収録されているのは、全部の曲を収録してもよいと思えるくらい数多ある名曲のほんの一部です。このアルバムを通じて彼女の魅力に初めて触れたのなら、次は、オリジナルアルバムをぜひ、お聴きください。

タイトルにも書きましたが、すごくゆったり聴けるアルバムだと思います。
ゆっくり過ごしたい時やヒマな時、憂鬱な時に聴いて欲しい曲です。
もちろん、慌しい時に聴いてもまた違った感じ方ができるのではないでしょうか？
ジャケットのデザインも星を散りばめたようでとてもステキです。
是非一度聴いてみてください。
