Megedethがカミソリが如く鋭利なサウンドなら、エクジュームドはチェンソーが如き荒っぽく鈍いサウンドですね。
Carcassを思わせるリフ、ツインボーカル、グチャグチャなGソロが入り混じって、木材を裁断するかのような攻撃的な音楽を作り上げる、まさに芸術的暴力音楽です。
低音のゲロ声（ビルっぽい）と高めの猫声(ジェフっぽい）が絡み合ってスパイラルな感じもあって、マジでCarcassを連想してしまいます。

アメリカのバンドの1st。まるでリアリティに欠けるＢ級スプラッタージャケが憐憫を誘いますが、中身はCarcass-3rd（ちょい4th）路線のブルデス、というか自称ゴアメタル・・・。ギターの音がCarcassに似てたりしますが（ぎゅぃーんとか、びょぃーんとか）、全体的にどうもグルーブ感が足りないというか、粘っこさが足りないというか（CARCASSに比べて）。もっとブルデス寄りデスネ。Carcass-3rdからグルーブ感と粘り気を取った感じ。気合いの入ったゴア/デス声は聴いてて気持ち良く爽快デス。まぁそこそこ血なまぐさいし、ブルデス的カッコ良さもあり、ゴアメタルという名前的には問題ない出来と思います。あとギターソロとかもあったりますが、これは個人的には不要デスネ。

カーカスの影響受けまくりのエグズームドの１st。彼らの最高傑作の呼び名も高い作品。ゴア・メタルらしい下水道型嘔吐ヴォーカルと絶叫ヴォーカルに重ブラスト・ビート炸裂といった感じで展開されるゴア・グラインド/デス・メタルなアルバム。ギターもなかなか活かしたリフを刻んでいるし、たまに聴かれるメロディーのあるギターソロも聴き所である。ベース音もちゃんと聴き取る事が出来るのでご安心を。ラストに収録されているジャーマン・スラッシュ・メタルバンドのソドムのカバーも必聴。
