全16曲で、全てヒット曲で構成されたフィル・コリンズを知っている方なら、完全保存版です。
特に、このようなベスト盤では珍しく、フィリップ・ベイリーとの大ヒットデュエット曲「イージーラバー」が収録されていて、1枚で2度美味しい超オススメのアルバムです。

　1999年にリリースされたベスト盤、ジェネシスの脱退宣言後（ビートルズ脱退を自作のソロアルバムの宣伝にしたポールマッカートニーの行為をまねた？）にリリースした1997年の「ダンスイントウザライト」が話題にならず、このまま消えてしまうのかと思っていた９９年夏に突如リリースされ、全国のコンビ二の店頭でも販売され、昔の勢いを取り戻したかのように見えて、ファンとしては、ほっとしたことを覚えている。この直後にフィルは「ターザン」主題歌で再びヒットを飛ばすことになるが、本作が久々のヒットの架け橋になったことは間違いないし、このサントラのために企画されたベストアルバムだったのかもしれない。新曲「トゥルーカラーズ」については、最初はベタな曲をカバーしたなと感じたが、シンディーローパーのオリジナルと比べると非常にクールな雰囲気に仕上げられていて、この曲を真夏に聴くと体感気温がー２度下がるような背筋がゾクゾクとくる感覚があり大好きだ。ベイビーフェイスと組んでアルバム１枚作ってもらいたかったと思うのは私だけではないだろう。他にも「セパレートライブ」や「テイクアルック」「イージーラバー」などオリジナルアルバムに収録されていないシングルヒット曲が満載で、ファンにもありがたいアルバムだ。

~Best, Greatest, Essential とかの看板付きでも選曲が残念とか、駄作が半分以上の２枚セットとかもありがちだが、これは中身大満足の１枚。全くお買い得。Phil Collinsを知っている人も知らない人も満足できるはず。他の人が歌ったヒット曲、True Colors (Cyndi Lauper), Easy Lover (Phil Bailey), You Can't Hurry Love (Diana Ross)なんかもある。映画で使われた印象的な曲、Against All~~ Odds(カリブの熱い夜)のAgainst All Odds, White NightsのSeparate Lives, BusterのTwo Hearts, A Groovy Kind Of Loveなんかも入っている。彼を知らなくても聴いた覚えが有る人多いはず。このCDは1998年なので、その後のHitsは当然含まれていない。とにかく１６曲全て素晴らしい。駄作なし。資源の有効利用に貢献している!?~
