いつ聞いてもアコースティックギターで奏でるメロディーがとても切なく涼しげな、最高のヒーリングアーティストが送る七枚目のアルバムです。
特にオススメなのはトラック１「The Moment in Which You Must Finaly Let Go of the Tether Which has Held Your Hope Airborne」とトラック３「If You Look」です。

この季節を静かに過ごしたい方、忙しさの中に平穏を求めている方はぜひ手に入れてみてください。新しい発見がここにありますよ。

5.0 out of 5 stars ジャケット通りのシンプルかつ究極の音空間。名盤中の名盤。, 2008/5/6
アンサンブルありソロありでアッカーマンの多面的な魅力が味わえる代表作。
それまで初期の作品を除けば、マイナーキーで冬をイメージさせる曲が多かったアッカーマンだが、この作品では全曲メジャーキーでさわやかな初夏をイメージさせる作品となっている。
ジャケットの写真は日本を代表する風景写真家の故前田真三氏によるもので、発売当時、ジャケットの写真に惹かれて聴いてみたのだが、ジャケット通りの音空間に完全に魅了されてしまい、それ以来、この作品以前の作品も含めて、彼の作品に魅了され続けている。
発売から今年2008年でなんと20年にもなるわけだが、いまなお新鮮な輝きを放ち続けている名盤中の名盤だ。
ジャケットが気に入ったという理由だけで聴いてみても全く期待を裏切られることはないだろう。むしろジャケットのイメージを何倍にも膨らませてくれるイマジナティブな音像に魅了されることは間違いない。
オープニングの「tne moment」はピアノのアラジン・マシューとの共作で、マシューのリリカルなピアノも絶品で、この作品を象徴する傑作である。特に曲中間部のアッカーマンのソロパートの素晴しさは筆舌に尽くしがたい。究極的にシンプルなフレーズでありながら、どこまでもイマジナリーで一遍の詩を読んでいるようだ。
2曲目は、アッカーマンのソロ作品で、後々、彼の代表作となっていく。
3曲目は、リリコンを奏でるチャック・グリーンバーグとの共作だが、シンセも用いたファンタスティックな逸品。特に名手マイケル・マンリングのフレットレスベースが特筆ものだ。（彼の素晴しいベースは8曲目でも活躍）
4曲目は映画「ニューシネマパラダイス」で有名なピアノの名手フィリップ・アーバーグとのデュエットだが、これが実に素晴しい。リリカルなバース部分とサビのダイナミックな展開の対比がアルバム全体のイメージをさらに押し広げていく。
5曲目は日本の尺八奏者、三橋貴風氏とのデュエットで、徐々に夜が明けて新しい1日が始まっていくようなイマジナティブかつ壮大な作品で、これを聴けば尺八の古典的イメージが変わるだろう。
アッカーマンのソロ作品の6曲目をはさみ、7曲目はジル・ヘイリーのオーボエとのデュエット。これも実に牧歌的でハートフルな作品で聴くものを捉えて離さない。
9曲目の「innocent moon」が実質のアルバムラスト曲だが、（後は3曲目と7曲目のヴァージョン違いと1曲目のリプライズ）このアッカーマンのソロは聴いていると本当に心が鏡のようにクリアに静かになっていくような気さえするほど冴えた音をしている。まさに絶品。
彼のギターの音は、ギターであってギターでない。もはや、風や草原の音、木々の音、鳥の囀りなど自然が発する音と同じであり、間違いなくギターが達した音の頂点の一つといえるだろう。
10年のときを経て、98年にはリマスターされて再発されているが、実際の盤やジャケットには表記はなく、聴覚上も本当にリマスターされているのか疑問がある。むしろオリジナル盤のほうが音がいいような気がする。また、ジャケットの印象的な前田真三氏による写真も小さくなってしまっている。20年の今年、この名盤を今の技術で誠意あるリマスターした国内版を出してくれないだろうか。

他の方同様、ぼくも一番好きで、やはり最高作かなと思います。
いろんな日々のシーンで、よく聴くアルバムです。
部屋に流して目を閉じると、よく軽い睡魔のなかへと漂いますが、それは瞑想的とも言える安らかな境地が時にあります。
懐かしくもあり、ひとり、旅の中で想う望郷の念のような淋しさあり、ジャケットの写真のイメージが彷彿とします。
これ以後のアルバムにも、このアンサンブルの心地よさはありますが、特に東洋的なアンサンブルの曲などによる独特な静寂の世界を、個人的にはもっと繋げてほしかった気もする。
