ビーチボーイズの曲をイギリスの名門ロイヤル・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団がカバー。ありがちな企画ですが、マイク・ラブやブルース・ジョンストンがボーカルで参加しているというのがミソ。アル・ジャーディンの息子も「ダーリン」のボーカルやってます。たいして期待もせず買ったのですが、なかなかどうしてけっこうイケてます。ボーカル入りの曲はたいしたことないけど、1曲目と最終曲のロイヤル・フィルだけのメドレー、ブライアンの曲がどれだけすばらしいかを痛感させてくれます。ボーカルやコーラスがなくてもこんなにいい曲だったのですね。プロデューサーのブルース・ジョンストンさん、中途半端にボーカル入れないで、全曲インストにしといたらよかったのでは？。
