ダイナマイトのようなパワーが炸裂する初期のエリスも素晴らしいけれど、後期のエリスの声には得もいわれぬ深みと味わいがあります。ジョイスの作になるタイトル曲の3.Essa Mulher、エリスの突然過ぎる夭折を悼んで人々が合唱したというジョアン・ボスコの2.O Bado E a Equillibristaなど、静かに心の扉を叩いてくる切々としたナンバーがたっぷり聴けます。そうかと思えば、遠くに「クァクァラクァクァ~」と聞こえてくる絶妙のアレンジが冴える1.Cai Dentro、思わず体が動いてしまうような6.Eu Hein Rosa!ではパワフルなエリスも健在。他に追随を許さないコクのあるヴォーカル。知名度低いけど大傑作の一枚。

エリスレジーナ後期の最高傑作といっていいのではないでしょうか。ジョアン･ボスコの「酔っぱらいと綱渡り芸人」ジョイスの「或る女」を始め、全てが名曲です。明るいサンバから段々としっとりとしていきます。最後のさびしい終わり方は、次のアルバム「エリス1980」を最後にこの世を去るエリスの人生を物語るようで切なくなります。

"酔っぱらいと綱渡り芸人"これはジョアン・ボスコのカバーです。非常に彼女を語る上では大事な曲です。ちょっと彼女のアルバムの中では趣を異にするアルバムですが、彼女の大事な一面をうかがう意味では貴重なアルバムの一つだと思います。もちろん彼女の歌唱力の素晴らしさを十分堪能できるアルバムです。エリスを知るうえでぜひ聴いて下さい。
