ＶＯＣＡＬがジョーイ・ベラドナからアーマード・セイントにいた
ジョン・ブッシュに交代して初めてリリースされた作品。

これまでの純ＴＨＲＡＳＨ路線から方向転換を行った問題作ですが、
彼らの最大のヒット作ともなりました。

まず目を（？）ひくのは、ＶＯＣＡＬの主張。ジョーイはスコットや

チャーリーが指示したラインをなぞるだけの歌唱しかさせてもらえ
なかったのですが、ジョンは自身の歌唱を主張し、好きなように唄って
います。
それと曲がリフ中心からメロディを重視した構成になっており、その
出色が彼ら最大のヒット曲2や8となります。それまでの彼らには
ありえない曲ですが、非常に完成度の高い傑作です。

また、ジョンのＶＯＣＡＬの効果でしょうか、パワーが目に!見えて
漲っていて、17なんて腰が抜けます（言いすぎ？）

尚、オリジナルでは11までが本編で、12はボーナス曲でリアルタイムでは
入っていませんでした。13以降はオリジナル盤ではボーナスＣＤとして
入っていたもので、メンバーが個人的に好きなバンド（ビースティボーイズ、

シン・リジー、チープトリック等）のコピーです。個人的にはシンリジーの
コピーである14はシビレます。

現在の彼らの原点であり、今様のＡＮＴＨＲＡＸ入門盤としても最適です。
彼らの生の魅力満載です。

ヴォーカリストのジョーイベラドナ がクビになり、ジョンブッシュが参加しての第一弾です。
かつてのアンスラックスと比べるとまるで別のバンドみたく思えてきます。かつてはゴリ押しのリフの応酬だったのが、本作品では歌メロ中心のサウンドに変わってしまっています。どちらのほうが優れているということはないのですが、ベラドナ時代しか知らないファンが聴いたらアンスラックスだとは絶対にわからないでしょう。
でもこれはこれですぐれたメタルアルバムだと思いますよ!

　ジョーイの後任に座ったジョン･ブッシュですが、後任と呼ぶにはあまりにも目立ちすぎです。聴いていても全く違和感がなく、安心して聴けるのでこれからスラッシュに触れようとしてる方にも是非お勧めできる1枚です。
　過去5枚のアルバムからすっかり離脱し、ヴォーカルの交代と共に路線を完全に変えてしまうあたりは王者の余裕さえ感じてしまいます…　それとも結構勇気の要る冒険だったのかなあと思ったりもしますが…
　『Only』『1000 Points of Hate』は過去5作と並べても聴き劣りしない名曲なので是非購入される事を望みます。
