トミーと言えばスカタライツだが、彼はスカを基盤としつつも様々なジャンルを横断しつつユニークな愛すべきアルバムを多く残していて、これもそんな中のひとつ。

まずジャケットが良い。爽やかでいてどこか寂しいカリブの海の青。音もまさにそのイメージ通りで、全体的にはジャズに近い空気の中、控えめなスカのオーセンティックなリズムにのせて、トミーのホーンが爽快に、しかし寂しそうに響く。

辺境の音楽。そして楽園の音楽。存在しないからこそユートピアには悲しさが付きまとう。このアルバムで聴ける音は、何かの為、誰かにの為でなくて、その場所でただただ鳴り響く。
