ハロウィン史上最もヘビーなアルバムであり、カイ・ハンセン時代の名盤守護神伝に負けない傑作。

このアルバムは発売当時は賛否両論あったが、優れたへヴィメタルアルバムであることは疑いもない事実である。それに加えて、アルバム全体のバランスも優れており、アルバム全体を通して聴いても聞き手をあきさせない。マイケル作の３、８，１２はメロディアスで佳曲だし、ウリ作のへヴィで長い曲も聞き手をあきさせない展開と、へヴィで、メタルファンをうならせるリフ満載でイイ曲ぞろいである。

前作で初期の感じに回帰して非常に評判良かっただけに、初期のハロウィンが好きな人達には不評ですが、また、新たな方向性としてパワーメタルよりになった感じ。曲はどれも今までよりヘビィです。マスタープランとかもそうだけど、メロスピ一辺倒からジャーマンメタル、メロスピの要素を残しつつ、よりヘビィなパワーメタルとの融合を目指した感じ。じっさい、この後に発表されるアルバムも同じ方向性なので、この後のアルバムの感じが好きな人にはお勧めです。個人的にはこの方向性は非常に好みです。
