去年のニッティング・ファクトリーでのライヴを収録したCD。ジェイムス・ブラッド・ウルマーの1のタイトルが象徴するロックが,パーカッションも多用したサウンドで炸裂しやす。2と8はオリジナルの新曲,10はビートルズのソウルフルなカヴァー。


内容 (「CDジャーナル・レビュー」より)

NY、ダウンタウンのミクスチャー・バンドの第2弾は、彼らの根城ニッティング・ファクトリーでのライヴ(9月8~9日録音)。この手の炸裂型バンドがその本領を、スタジオ・レコーディングで収録しきった例はまず少ないが、この5人組は初作でもかなりのレベルで成功していた。が、だからこそ確信もした、ライヴではもっともっといけるはず、との思い――4月の初来日でもまずまず証明されたが――晴れて、これよぉ!と言わしめるに至った。ああ、めでたし。(3)~(7)(9)は既発表曲で、(2)(8)が新曲。前作でも鬼っ子と生まれ変わってたマイルス・デイヴィスの(4)はさらに凄味を増し、加えてジェイムス・ブラッド・ウルマーの(1)とビートルズの(10)がある。何でも消化する彼らの創造的胃袋の強靭さはやはり並じゃない。バンドの核、デイヴィッド・フュージンスキーのギターはおいそれと近づけないほど暴れ捲ってるし、巨大ディーンのヨーデル唱法(?)も満開だ。ドラムにメンバー変更あり。大音量で聴くべし。 (松永記代美) --- 1999年01月号

ギターのDavid Fiuczynskiのソロアルバムjuzzpunkと比較すると、全体的にファンキー、ジャージーな感覚で統一され、聞きやすい印象である。素晴らしいグルーブ感に浸るのもよし、超絶技巧に感嘆するもよし、買って損のない名演。

ライヴ版の良いところと悪いところが出たなあ（＾-＾；）
楽曲自体は良いので、聴いていてもいいのだが・・・5年買い控えていた勘もあながち間違ってなかったのかも！？期待し過ぎか（＠＠；）
スタジオ版は文句無☆５（＞＜）
