元ビーチボーイズの首謀、ブライアン・ウィルソンの2枚目の本格的ソロリリース。多重録音を駆使したバランスのとれたコーラスは、彼の肉体的技量が光る力作。しかし残念ながら、(ジョー・トーマスとの)共同制作されたこの作品は土台となるインスツルメンタルが希薄すぎるし、羽のように軽い構成は『ペット・サウンドズ』や「カリフォルニア・ガールズ」、ビートを踏みならす『Wild Honey』の魅力からは程遠い。「She Says That She Needs Me」と「Let Him Run Wild」の2曲だけがウィルソンのベスト曲をうっすらとほのめかしているだけだ (2番目のビンテージナンバー「Keep an Eye on Summer」も収録されている)。ウィルソン独自の「Kokomo」、「South American」に何故ジミー・バフェットの助けが要るのかも不可解。

もう私にとってこのアルバムは大名曲1につきる。
これだけで星五つあげちゃう。どうして同じ人間なのにこんなに切なく
いいメロディーの曲が書けるのか不思議なほど。
個人的にはBrianが書いた中で１，２を争う名曲だと思っております。
（他にもあるだろという突っ込みもあろうかと思いますが、私的にツボなのであしからず）

1曲目で投資の回収が出来たとまずリスナーの不安を一掃してくれる顧客満足度最高の作品です。冗談はさておき、復活後の第２弾、まだまだ不安がありましたが、どんどん気力充実度が伝わってきて一安心させてくれました。また全体的にギターの音色が素晴らしく、そして、復活後のブライアンサウンド（バックコーラスとのからみあい）みたいなものが確立してきたような気にさせてくれたアルバムです。またジャケット（ＣＤでもジャケットと呼ぶのか？）もなんかいい感じです。別にトロピカル風でもないのですがね。
