5.0 out of 5 stars リマスター＆リレコーディング初期ベスト, 2004/6/18
1st｢ICED EARTH｣と2nd｢NIGHT OF THE STORMRIDER｣に加え、前身バンドPURGATORY時代のデモ曲をリマスター＆リレコーディングした初期ベスト（欧州版2枚組は3rdの曲も含む）。センチュリーメディアを離れる際、初期の音源はリマスター再発されたけど、これはそのベスト選曲で、しかもマシュー・バーロウが歌い直している点が大きい。ティム・オーウェンズも勿論凄いが、マシューは普通の歌声も、デス声に近いシャウトも両方最高レヴェルでこなせる上に、何処かしら悲しげな響きをみせる（ある意味ex.ARCH ENEMYのヨハン・リーヴァに通じるかも）良いシンガーだった。リマスターor再録の楽曲も当然音質の良くなかった原盤よりも鋭さ・重さを増して本当に素晴らしい。

全体通してレベルの高い楽曲を堪能できる良いベストだと思う。
ただ曲によってVoラインがメタルぽくないのもあり、それが曲を邪魔していてもったいないと感じるものもあった。
が、パワー＆ヘヴィメタル度は高いのでヘッドバンキング必須ですｗ
個人的にはT-9がかっこいいです！長い曲なんですが、動・静の絶妙な絡みとストレートなギターのリフに昇天しますよ！v(^o^)
