若きプロミュージシャン時代の１０年近くををテラプレンというバンドで過ごしたイギリスの逸材ダニー・ボウズ＆ルーク・モーリーを中心に結成されたバンドのファーストデビューアルバムがこれ。次作が全英２位と大ヒットしたのはこのアルバムとドニントンのモンスターズオブロックでのパフォーマンスで話題をかっさらったからであろう。ＵＫロックではなく、ブリティッシュロックのスピリットを明確に打ち出し、印象的なギターのリフとソロ、抜群の歌唱力にエアロのｓ・タイラー、ガンズのアクセル、などが脱帽したというその声はイギリス人以外には出せないものである。１，２，３，４，５，６，７曲目までのすべてが８０年代のデフレパード以外のどのブリティッシュのバンドの曲よりも上を行くといっても過言ではないくらいに素晴らしい。それはなぜなら、ブリティッシュのスピリットが存在するから。しかしブリティッシュ風味だけでなく、青空へと突き抜けるような爽快感をも有し、非常にスケールの大きい演奏でアメリカ志向をも明確に打ち出した。ブリティッシュロックとアメリカンロック、８０年代の音、の３つすべてが好きな方は気に入るはずだ。デヴィッド・リー・ロスなどとのアメリカツアーがキャンセルになったことで全米では６０位くらい止まりだったが、実現していれば結果はもっと上であったであろうことがこのバンドの運のないところか。
