まりやさんの声は甘酸っぱくて、切なくて、いつまでも青春を思い出させる、得な声ですね、まりやさんのアルバムを聞いていると、現在も学生の様な錯覚を起こさせます、そして自分自身まだまだ何でもやれる様な気力が湧いてきます、特に（駅）を聞いているとだれにでも一度はそんな経験がありそうで、何とも言えない切なさと懐かしさ、夕暮れ時のセピア色の映像が浮かんできます、でも気落ちしないのは、まりやさんの声が優しくカバーしているからです、この方のアルバムはどれを聞いても、期待は裏切りません、ぜひ青春を忘れそうになった大人の方にお進めです、もちろんこれから青春する方にも素敵な恋をする為に聞いて下さい。

1980年代〜90年代前半までの竹内まりやさんのヒットシングルを集めたベストアルバム。竹内まりやさんの曲はテレビのタイアップが多いため、どれもが知っている曲ばかりです。

最大のヒットシングル「シングル・アゲイン」
不倫をテーマにした問題作「マンハッタン・キス」
後にシングルとして再発された「もう一度」
薬師丸ひろ子さんへの提供曲をセルフカバーした「元気を出して」
・・・

もうどれもがその時代を代表する楽曲なので、3000円弱というお値段はお得すぎます。
この「Impressions」発売後のシングルもだいぶたまってきたでしょうから、第２の「Impressions」が発売されるのも近いのでしょうか。もし実現すれば、それもまたJ-POPファンのマストアイテムになることでしょう。

彼女のベストアルバムの『Impressions』はいつ聴いてもいいですね。

青春のほろ苦い思い出や淡い感情を印象的なフレーズと言葉でスポットライトを当てたかのように浮かび上がらせる手法は今も色褪せませんし、その切ない歌詞に込められた「歌心」には感情が騒ぎます。

「けんかをやめて」「元気を出して」「駅」「リンダ」など、他のアーティストに提供した名曲を彼女自身の歌として新たな魅力を付け加え、夫である山下達郎のアレンジが冴え渡り、J-POPの代表とでもいうべき２人の個性の融合がとてつもないベストを創り出したという感じでしょうか。

テレビドラマのテーマソングとして書かれた「恋の嵐」「シングル・アゲイン」「もう一度」「告白」「純愛ラプソディ」「家に帰ろう」等を聴いていますと、そのポップなメロディーはもとより情景を浮かび上がらせる歌詞のイメージの鮮明さがテレビドラマのテーマソングにピッタリなのでしょうね。

山下達郎が書いている曲目解説がとても楽しめます。まるで自分のアルバムのようで、これらのアレンジも山下達郎そのものの香りがします。時折、彼のアルバムを聴いているのかな、と思わせるのもまた一興ですが。
