本アルバムは、
・当初リリースされたCD（MID-1001、M12の「きみについて」が未収録）
・1990年頃（詳細失念）にリリースされたCDボックスの「音楽図鑑完璧盤」（「きみに．．」をCD初収録）
・単独リリースの「音楽図鑑完璧盤」（記録層を純金にしたゴールドCD、1992/07）
・「音楽図鑑完全盤」（1992/11）
・「音楽図鑑完璧盤」（1993/09）
と変遷を遂げてきました。
私も何度か買い直し、現在の手持ちは1992/07のゴールドCD版です。
今回、[Original recording remastered] が謳われた盤（確か初めてこれが謳われたのは、1992/11か、1993/09の盤）を聞き比べてみようと思い、購入してみました。

結果ですが．．．現在流通している1993/09の盤は、1992/07のゴールドCDの盤と同一音質でした。
おそらく、「きみについて」を収録する際に、リマスタリングが行われたのでしょう。
音質改善の度合いは、MID-1001と比較すべきであると思われますが、すでに手放してしまった為に、聴き比べることはできませんでした。

本作は最後のリマスターから15年程度経過しているということになりますが、そろそろ教授監修で決定版の音質でリリースして欲しいものです。
2002年にリリースされた教授のベスト盤「US」に収録されたM1,M4でも、音の厚みやアタックの切れなどがより良くなっており、「音楽図鑑」の全曲を同レベルの音質で聴きたくなります。

なお「きみについて」はニッセイのキャンペーンで当選するレコードのA面でしたが、同B面の「夜のガスパール」「青ペンキの中の僕の涙」は、2002年にリリースされた教授のベスト？アルバム「WORKS I-CM」に収録されています。また、「きみについて」のインスト版が「WORKS II-TV/Inst.」に収録されています。

絵本のよう。別にけなしているわけではありません。これを聴くと色彩感豊かで子供の頃によく読んだ絵本や昆虫図鑑を思い出します。
難解さや重圧感がなく、開放感に溢れています。無機質に思われがちなシンセサイザーの音色も有機的で実に美しい。そして多くのミュージシャンの演奏もこのアルバムに花をそえ、いっそうの色鮮やかさをはなっています。
静かに、さまざまに色を変えながら展開してく様は「美しい」の一言。

言うまでも無く　坂本龍一のマスターピースアルバムの一つ。今聴き返しても曲の種類の多さ、各曲の完成度の高さ、そして何より感じる志の高さには　正直感嘆する。ある意味ではもっとも丁寧でもっとも豪華であり、いわばおせち料理の重箱を開けているような気がしてならない。個人的にはCDになってようやく聴けた「君について」に思い入れが強い。日本生命のCMソングで聴いた際に引き付けられたが　当時は抽選であたるシングルレコードか　若しくは
音楽図鑑カセットテープ版でしか聴けず　従い諦めていた。今回　このCDでじっくり聴けたのは　初恋の人に再会したようなものである。
