   78年、YMO結成以前に制作された坂本龍一のデビューアルバム。基本的には、シンセサイザーを駆使したピコピコ電子音で彩られたポップな現代音楽である。後の作品には感じられないフュージョン的な雰囲気があり、独特の魅力を備えたアルバムとして人気がある。
   妙な気分にさせられる魔性の名曲<1>、ピアノが先導する愛らしい<3>、細野晴臣と同時期に偶然まったく同じ旋律を作ってしまったという、いわくつきの<6>などが聴きどころ。YMOのほかの2名、カスタネットをたたく山下達郎と、独特のギターソロを弾きまくる渡辺香津美などが参加している。（麻路 稔）

5.0 out of 5 stars このCD製作時、教授25歳。凄すぎる！, 2002/8/25
　ＹＭＯ結成してすぐ位に出たＣＤ。音はＹＭＯの１ＳＴに近いが、もう少しアカデミックな感じがします。当時の冨田勲に近い感じはしますが、教授は冨田勲のようにクラシック曲をシンセサイザーの曲で演奏したのではなく、全曲オリジナルの曲です。しかし、このＣＤが凄いのは教授がこの音楽を製作したときが若干25歳、芸大の大学院を出てすぐくらいの時であるということです。当時このような緻密かつオリジナリティー溢れるシンセサイザー音楽を演っていた人は数えるほどしかいなく、その中でもトップに挙げられるものといっていいと思います。
　私はこのＣＤと次作の「Ｂ-２ＵＮＩＴ」の２枚で、この人は（アカデミー賞受賞なんてことがなくても）世界に誇れる天才であると思います。

快感です。
快感の極地がこのアルバムに網羅されてます。
「感動」ではなく、「快感」なのです。

私は、教授の作品を、言葉で上手く言い表せません。
彼の音楽的美意識の領域は、人間の言語では、説明不可能なものです。
これは誇張ではなく、人間の言語を用いた、一個人である私からの、正直な感想の吐露です。

千のナイフもすごいですが、２曲目もすごいです、あの「聖者の行進」が、おもちゃのように、しかも効果的に、さりげなく、この曲に「毒」を盛り込んでいます。１聴アバンギャルドなようで、聴きこむと完成された「建築美」を匂わせる教授のセンスは、この頃から既に完成されていたのかもしれません。

音源的には確かに古いかも知れませんが、教授にあっては、音源はただのツールに過ぎないでしょう。（でなけりゃ近代的シンセ音にまみれて育った私が、このアルバムの凄さにな気付く訳が無い。）

このアルバムは、ホントに聴く人が聴けば、多分「中毒」になるでしょう。

教授の「毒」の原点は、確かにここにあります。
