と言う言葉で始めるのは言い過ぎだろうか？だが、実際に初めてこのアルバムを耳にした時、近年の彼等のアルバムをストーンズの新譜だから心して聞かねばいけないと言う感覚に近い雰囲気で聞いていたのでは、と思えるほど本作に純粋に心地良い響きを感じていた｡
アルバムは特に実況盤は頭が肝心なんだ！と主張するように｢ファイティング･マン｣のイントロは魅力的だ｡勿論ミックスの妙技がものを言っているのだろう｡
また,いつもワンパターンに聞こえる彼等のイントロもアコギでやると不思議に気にならない｡本来彼等の志向するサウンドがアコ系にあるからなのかもしれないと思えるほどだ｡勿論,ここでは｢ジャックフラッシュ｣や｢サティスファクション｣は似合わなくて,ふさわしい曲を選択しているのだろうが,その選択が的を得ている事が彼等の成功してきた鍵なのだと思う｡
彼等が本当にやりたいのは,もしかしたらアコギのブルースなのかもしれない｡アコギのブルースを自分達のアイテムで再現する｡勿論少しカントリーフレーバーを混合してだ｡そんな企画書があったんじゃないだろうか？
大型スタジアムでのライヴと比較しても,本人達のやる気がかなり感じられるアルバムである｡
こう言う音と熱気を次作のスタジオ盤で作ってほしいものである｡

　いやー、またハマってしまった。近頃、ストーンズ聴いてなかったけど、久々にこれ引っ張り出して聴いたら、3回連続で聴いていました。
　このアルバム発売時、俗に言うアンプラグド・アルバム全盛のころで、「ストーンズもやっぱり出したか...」という思いで特に期待もしないまま聴いたものだったが、聴き込んでいくうちに、何回も聴いてしまうスルメアルバムになったものでした。

　なんだかストーンズが部屋のなかで演奏しているかのような身近さを味わえる。とにかくなごむアルバム。このなごみ感は、数多いストーンズアルバムの中でも、珍しいのではないだろうか。
　ストーンズのどちらかというと裏名曲的な曲たちが、アコースティックにゆったりと演奏される。本人らも、肩の力を抜いてやっている感がある。

　チャカポコチャカポコとリズムが楽しい(3)not Fade Away、ミックが軽〜く歌いとばしてる(6)I'm Free、絶品の(7)Wild Horses、おおらかで少しホロっとくるカントリーブルース調の(13)Sweet Virginia、などなど良さを挙げたらキリがなくなってしまう。

　古き良きレトロな感じが詰まっている宝箱のようなアルバムだ。いつまでも手放せない一枚。
