４ｔｈアルバムAshes are Burning　あたりから始まった彼らの五つ星連発攻撃のひとつ。
７０年代に発表された彼らのアルバムはどれをとってもはずれなし。これを最高傑作とする人も多いはず。邦題は「お伽噺」。ライブも数えると８作目。

一曲目、彼らの代表曲のひとつ、「私の声が聞こえますか？」の壮大なシンフォニックもさることながら、２曲目の美しさ切なさ哀愁はどないだ？これ聴いてわしら世代のプログレファンはみんな泣いたもんじゃ。試聴があったとしても２０秒ぐらいじゃイントロさえ終わっとらんと思うがの。そのあと日本人の感性にぐぐぐとくるんじゃ。世代は変わろうともこの感覚は共有できるはずじゃ。「エピタフ」や「天国への階段」をええと思うじゃろ？ならばまちがいない、この美しさも共有できるはずじゃ。

~このアルバムを初めて手に取ったのはもう15年以上前、まだアナログからCDへの移行期で、このアルバムはLPで購入しました。これから聴く人にとって不幸なのはあの美しいジャケットがLPサイズで手に取れないことです。でも、レコードに針を落とすと現れる、イギリスの深い森から聞えてくるようなあのサウンドはCDでも充分に楽しめると思います。じっくりと音のシャ~~ワーを浴びてください。~

７７年発表の７作目。ワーナー移籍第一弾。このグループの代表作は『シェラザード』というのが定説ではあるものの、ワーナー時代の３作の方が親しみやすくて楽しめる。この時代の彼女らは徐々に洗練され、コンパクトにポップになっていく様が垣間見れるが、これを衰退と見るか進歩と見るかで評価は大きく分かれるだろうが、この時代の楽曲のクオリティは非常に高く、最初に聞く一枚としては次作の『A SONG FOR ALL SEASONS』や次々作の『AZURE D'OR』は絶対のお薦めだと思う。この作品は移籍前の残り香のようなクラシック色が強い作品であり、重圧で聞き応えは十分。それでいて以降のポップな要素も強く出ており、ある意味でおいしい処取りのような作品である。しかしながら、個人的にはルネッサンスの作品では比較的聞くことの少ない作品ではあった。それが０１年の彼女らのライヴを体験してからは評価が一転、大好きな作品の一つになった。ライヴで演奏されたこのアルバムの曲の素晴らしさは言い表わすことは本当に難しい。もちろんスタジオ録音のアルバムも素晴らしい出来だが、その一端を表しているに過ぎないと思う。
合唱隊やオーケストラを贅沢に使った１．にしてもそれらの装飾がなくても十分感動的だった。
大作主義にこだわった最後の作品であり、重圧でスケールの大きいドラマチックな作りで、特にライヴ映えのする曲を含んだ傑作アルバムだと思う。
