　80年に発表されたポップ・グループの傑作２ndにマーク・スチュワートがリマスタリングを施した再発盤。これは一生に一度出会えるかどうかの全身鳥肌ものの作品です。ファンク色の強いうねるようなリズムを生み出す超重低音のベースと適格なドラム、鋭く且つ刺々しいカッティングを繰り出す2本のギター、そしてマーク・スチュワートのがなり声。彼らの作りだす音はまさに怒りの咆哮。それは、聴き手に計り知れないほどの強烈なエネルギー＝衝撃となって襲いかかってきます。心底から震えました。

このアルバムを始めて聞いたときの衝撃を今でも忘れません。インディーズ盛んなりし80'UKでJoy DivisionとPop Groupは衝撃的でした。
平均年齢19歳の純粋な精神が大人の穢れた世界に爆弾を落とすアルバムです。怒りに充ちたこのアルバムはSex Pistolsの

前作で爆発した衝動は少し抑えられ、代わりにテク不足のため未消化だったポップセンスが融合。メッセージもノイズもファンクもパンクもダブも巻きこんだ異形のポップアルバムが仕上がっている。にもかかわらず前作以上に息もつかせぬテンションでたたみかける楽曲はやはり彼らの演奏力の向上によるものだろうか。とにかく完成度にかけては前作「Y最後の警告」を完全に圧倒している。ポストパンクだとか、元祖オルタナというより、このアルバムは一つのロック史における衝撃的な「事件」である。
