世界的に限定生産として発売された、MTVアンプラグドのライヴ盤。
限定のわりには未だに在庫がある不思議なアルバムですが、内容は素晴らしいです。
前回までのツアーバンドとの信頼があるのか、リラックスしたムードですが演奏はタイトに引き締まったいいライブです。

KISSのようなただアコースティックで演奏するような事は当然なく、アレンジも選曲も気が利いています。

アンプラグドという造語もまだ知られていなく、ファン以外にはそれほど話題にはなりませんでした。
後にアンプラグドブームが起こり、その度に「クラプトンがはじめてアンプラグド・ライヴ盤をリリース」

と間違った報道をされてしまいますが、ポールが流行を先取りできた事をファンとして誇りに思います。
ディランもクラプトンもプラグのささった楽器があり、ベイビーフェイスにいたっては、
頭からエレキギターが登場してましたが、ポールは本当の意味でアンプラグドでした。
日本でも放送されたこの日のビデオが発売されるのを未だに期待しています。

’８９ー’９０年の大成功に終ったワールドツアーから次のアルバム「オフ・ザ・グラウンド」を引っさげてポールが再びツアーに戻るのが’９３年。そんなに待ってはいられない、とばかりにこの時期のポールはこうした小規模のギグを断片的に繰り返していたようです。そんなニュースを聴く度に「日本でもこんな感じでやってくれないかなぁ」そうため息をついた記憶があります。

　聴きどころはこの時点ではライヴ初登場の「ヒア・ゼア・アンド・エブリホエア」「恋を抱きしめよう」そして「アンド・アイ・ラヴ・ハー」・・・この映像の方もコンプリートな形でのリリースが待望されています。

公式海賊盤というタイトルに敬遠気味ではあったのですが欲望に勝てず買ってしまいました。ＭＴＶで成功したシリーズのアンプラグド・コンサート。
ポールは、アコースティックの名曲も一杯あるし、こういう趣向のコンサートでもロックンロールからバラードまでリラックスした雰囲気で演奏しています。世界ツアーを行ったメンバーで息もピッタリ。

それにしてもポールって何をやっても凄いですね。いつもポールだし。
特にいいと思ったのは「恋を抱きしめよう」。「ジャンク」を最後に演奏しているのにはちょっとびっくり。ファンを喜ばすことを良く知っていますねぇ。
