　聴きやすいメタルからという初心者にはキャントビリーブあたりから
ガツンとイってみて。うおーかっこえーと素直にツカミはオッケー！

元グリムリーパー、オンスロートのスティーブ・グリメットのパワフルハイトーンヴォイス炸裂、グリメット節＆コブシ回しまくり、ウーンたまらんな。

前述のバンドでは見れないような多彩な曲を歌い上げる歌唱力が魅力的。
オゥワーズ兄弟の楽曲センスもバッチシ。

メロディアス・キャッチー・ドラマティックなナンバーがっ…
ネオクラシカル・ブルージー・哀愁・のエッセンスも適度にまぶしつつ…

まさにツボを押さえたとはこのこと！HR／HMのバイブルとまではいかないまでも、良い教科書・お手本まちがいなしの超推薦盤だよ。是非聴いてみてね！

残念なのはアルバム発表後ノイローゼによるオゥワーズ兄弟脱退＆来日ライブも失敗。続くアルバムもオチメだったしな。あーモーなんでコーなるの？

せめてグリメットはライジングフォースあたりに加入したら色々な意味で面白いと思うのだが、どーだろか？…イヤやっぱりマズイな

　1993年、LIONSHEARTの1stアルバムです。

　LIONSHEARTは、「いかにも！？」なバンド名どおり、英国ハードロック・バンドです。
　メンバーは、
Steve Grimmett (Vo, GRIM REAPER, ONSLAUGHT), Mark Owers (G), Steve Owers (B),
Graham Collett (Key), Anthony Christmas (Dr)　　　です。

　音楽性は、英国ハードロックの伝統を見事に受け継いでいます。
　80's 後半のWHITESNAKEが、最も近い感じです。
　WHITESNAKE的なハードロックに、VoとGの個性をブレンドしたような感じです。

　Steve GrimmettのVoは、David Coverdaleを想起させるような歌唱ですが、
曲によっては、むしろ、Ronnie James DioやMark Boalsのような張りのあるパワフルな歌唱を聴かせてくれます。
　また、Mark OwersのGは、英国ハードロック的なリフを中心に、
Nuno Bettencourtのようなギターリック、Yngwie Malmsteen的な速弾きが織り込まれています。

　自分たちのルーツである「英国ハードロック」をベースに、
当時の音楽のなかでも最高な要素を、うまくブレンドしたアルバムです。
　個人的には、Steve Grimmettの圧倒的な歌唱力、Mark Owersのセンスのある「技ありギター」、
そして、Owers兄弟のソングライティング力に脱帽です。

　某紙では、クロスレビューで、「86点、96点、87点」をたたき出した名盤です。

　正統的で気高い「英国ハードロック・ファン」に、オススメです。
（中古盤・激安です。。。が、決して「使い捨て音楽」ではありません）

元グリムリーパーのスティーブ・グリメットのバンド。Ｂ級ですがどうしてキャッチーな名曲ぞろいの名盤に仕上がっております。ボーカルがまずよろしい。正統派ハードロックの佳曲が詰まっております。ここまですごいとは購入当時はビックリしてしまいました。［CAN'T BELIEVE][PORTRAIT][LIVING IN A FANTASY]の流れは奇跡に近い出来となっております。
