ニール・ショーン（現JOURNEY）のBANDとして思われがちであるが、
元々はジョエリ兄弟が作ったBANDにニールが参加したのだ。
結局ニールが仕切るようになるのだが....。

さて、このHARDLINEというバンド、爽快なアメリカンHRを十二分に聴かせてくれる。
爽快な...でピンッ！とくるのはTRIXTERであろうが、ヘヴィさが全く違う。
JOURNEY解散後、ニールはBAD ENGLISHでソフトな音に飽きており、
そのウップンをここで晴らすかのように、メチャメチャヘヴィなサウンドを奏でている。
ツインギターであるので、その重厚さはわかるが、並大抵の重みではない！
Voのジョニー・ジョエリも素晴らしい声を聴かせてくれる。

しかし何と言っても、やはり楽曲が大きく物を言う。

本作に収められている全13曲は、本当に素晴らしい曲ばかりだ！
爽快さ溢れる曲からバラードまで、なんとも心地よい曲ばかりだ。

発売当初、あまり売上が伸びず、何故こんなに素晴らしいBANDが？
と、惜しまれつつも自然消滅してしまった。

ただのアメリカンHRではない！というのを、これで感じ取って欲しい。

現在では、この作品は名盤になろうとしている。

今でも充分に堪能できる曲であり、そのセンスを味わって欲しい。

　９２年発表の１st。バンド内のゴタゴタに嫌気が差し、BAD ENGLISHを脱退した、Neal Schon（g）とDeen Castronovo（dr）の２人が、元BRUNETTEのJoey（vo）、Johnny（g）のGioeli兄弟と息統合し、Todd Jansen（b）を呼び寄せて結成したバンド。音の方は、Neal Schonの数多い経歴の中でも一番ハード＆ヘヴィなサウンドだろう。ただ、ハード＆ヘヴィと言っても、明るいアメリカンHR的要素が強い楽曲が多く、非常に聴きやすい。
　中でも、国内盤のみのボーナストラックである”Love Leads The Way”だけは別格と言えるほどに完成度が高い曲。この一曲だけの為にも買う価値はある。

もう文句のつけようがないくらいすごいです。ニール・ショーンがかかわった作品では一番じゃあないでしょうか。ジャーニーよりハードに決めてますがこれがもうカッコいい。サバイバーやジャーニーが好きな方、メロディック・ロックの好きな方に絶対お薦めです。アルバムの中で好きな曲はアイ・ウィル・ビー・ゼアとボーナストラックのラブ・リーズ・ザ･ウェイです。

骨太のハードロック然としたサウンドがたまらんです。
もう「俺はこれが弾きたいんだもんね」という想いがビンビンで暑苦しいけど爽やかなカッコよさです。
