モトリーの傑作はDr.Feelgood。これはゆるぎない。でも、個人的にはこっちのほうが好き。ジョン・コラビは今なにをしているんだろう･･･。あまり売れなかったらしい、このアルバムだけどいアルバムだと思うんだが。

元ザスクリームのジョンを補充して録音した作品。ジョンの声がかなり渋くサウンドをクールなので全体がソリッドな方向へと転換した。一瞬サウンドガーデンみたいな部分もありどきっとする。ギターをぐりぐりと言わせてうねりを出す音像＝今までにない方法論。おちゃらけたとこがぜんぜんない。ダークで重い。激しく放射するエネルギーとぐさりぐさりと切り込むギターがまぶしい。新たなモトリー像を目指してたチャレンジ作品。昔を一掃してかかったのだから、昔のファンはがっかりしたろう。しかし個人的にはこれが一番好きである。なぜならジョンコラビの声がかっこいいからだ。おすすめは１０）Smoke the sky　である、ジョンコラビの魅力はこれで味わうことができる。パーティーバンドではない黒光りのモトリー。黄色はくさい色。

　ヴォーカリストがジョン・コラビになり、今までにないサウンドを作り上げたプロデューサーのボブ・ロックに拍手を送りたい。白眉は“Misunderstood”でのグレン・ヒューズとの掛け合い。楽曲は“Smoke Sky”と“Poison Apple”が名曲ではないでしょうか。アルバム全体を通してジョンのヴォーカリストとしての質の高さを思い知る事になります。個人的にはモトリーにはこの路線で走ってもらいたかったけど。
　リリース当初はジャケットが赤と黄色の2種が出ていましたが、現在では赤が輸入盤で黄が日本盤のようです。
