このアルバムは、第３期オールマンの３枚目にあたるアルバムであり、第３期の名盤です。人によっては、３期の名盤は「Enlightened Rogues（いま再び）」だろという人もいると思いますが、私は断然こちらをお勧めします。第１期~３期のスタジオ盤の中では、「Brothers and Sisters」と並び評されるべきアルバムなのです。

この時期の音楽シーンは、ポップな音作りが主流になっており、オールマンズもその時代の流れに飲み込まれていました。だから、オールマンの中では一番ポップなアルバムです。でも前作「Reach for the Sky」の駄作を受け、気合を入れて作っており曲は粒ぞろい。特に「Brothers of the Road」「Straight from the Heart」「Never Knew How Much」がお勧めです。

でも結局、今までの中で最悪のセールスを記録し、解散につながってしまいました。当時のオールマンは、アメリカでも、古い、時代遅れ、と思われていたのでしょう。今のように我が道を行けるだけの確固たる自信や地位はなかったのです。
