昔、ジャケット買いで聞いたTOTOのライナーよりたぐってAIRPLAYへ。

この時代は(80年代）アルバムの参加アーティストを探るとジャンルを超えアーティスト数珠つながり状態。その広がりがまさあのにスタジオミュージシャン全盛期のAORの楽しいところ。スティーヴルカサーの師匠ジェイグレイドンしかり、後の名プロデューサー、デビットフォスターしかり、あちこちで目にすることに。マイケルマクドナルド＝ドゥービーブラザース＝スティーリーダンとか、イーグルス＝ランデイマイズナー＝POCOとか、この頃(70年含む)の自分は昔をたぐったり、参加アーティストをひろっていったりして、聞く音楽の幅を広げていったものです。
そういう楽しみの原点にあるアルバム。皆さんはどんなアーティストに
たどりつくのでしょう。

もし、あなたが車を持っているなら、夏のカラッと晴れた日に、海沿いの道路をかっ飛ばしながら、このＣＤをぜひ聴いて欲しいです！！　この作品のシチュエーションはコレにつきると思います。　どの曲も良いですが、個人的には特にｓｔｒａｎｄｅｄとｃｒｙｉｎ’ａｌｌ　ｎｉｇｈｔが最高です。　カテゴリー的にはＡＯＲになるらしく、自分はその辺りよくわかりませんが、そんなの関係ないです（笑）！！　理屈抜きに気持ちいいですよ。

聴いてみて・・確かにいい。AORの王道とは路線が違うけど、ポップで楽しく都会的に洗練されており、洋楽好きなら老いも若きもみんなが聴けそうなAORです。TOTOの曲にもこのエッセンスが結構入っております。当り前か・・そして、何度聴いてもいいです。みんなが絶賛して、未だに売れ続けているわけがよく分かりました。
