歌声が美しいと定評のあるｶﾚﾝだが、ただ声が美しいばかりではないのは了解できた。日本のｸﾞﾙｰﾌﾟｻｳﾝｽﾞの時代に、これだけﾄﾞﾗﾑをｷﾁﾝと叩けていた人はどれだけいただろう、ともふと思った。ｼﾞｬｽﾞが背後にあってそれをこれほど華麗にポップスに昇華できるとは。ﾗｲﾌﾞ･ｲﾝ･ｼﾞｬﾊﾟﾝと比較すると歌声の豊かさに巧みさとやや倦怠感が加わったといった評価だ。それはこれから本物の上手さが花開く通過点なのだ。当時、ﾘﾝﾀﾞﾛﾝｼｭﾀｯﾄ、ｱｲﾄﾞﾙのｵﾘﾋﾞｱﾆｭｰﾄﾝｼﾞｮﾝらがその歌声を競っていたが、ｶﾚﾝとﾘﾁｬｰﾄﾞの音楽に対する意識の高さはある意味で孤高の高みにあった。永遠に忘れがたい曲の数々は、おそらくそれを裏付けるものだろう。
