オリジナルサウンドトラックといっても実在の映画のサントラ盤ではありません。10ccが架空の映画のサウンドトラックを創りあげたのです。それぞれの曲を聴いていると、まるで映画のワンシーンが浮かび上がってくるようです。もちろんそんな映画は存在しません。存在しないのですが、なぜかワンシーンが浮かんでしまうのです。まさに10ccマジックといったところでしょうか。収録曲ではもちろんアイムノットインラヴが有名ですが、 他にも人生は野菜スープとか、2度目の最後の晩さんなどが名曲としてしられています。でもアルバムタイトルにもっともふさわしい曲としてパリの一夜をあげておきましょう。まさに本物のサントラ盤に入っていてもおかしくないような曲です。このアルバムは傑作というよりも名作といったほうがふさわしいと思います。なんでだと問われると困るのですが、きっとアルバムタイトルがオリジナルサウンドトラックだからかなぁ。

10CCはギズモを開発した2人がメンバーだけあって実に理知的なアルバムを作る。1975年の本作は仮想のオリジナル・サウンド・トラックを作成すると言う試みで作られた作品だが、その音響の細かな広がりは(特に『I'm not in Love』)はとても75年の作品とは思えないすばらしさだ。

レコーディング・エンジニア志望の人に聴いて欲しい。

実験好き好きゴドレイ＆クレェ〜ムに、ポ〜ル・マッカァトニィ〜とも一時期マブ友だったエリック＆グラハムの４人が組みまくりで作ったバンド、それって10ccの佳作っす！ゴドレイ＆クレェ〜ム組の実験色濃濃な曲と、エリック＆グラハム組のHEY!ポォ〜ップな聴きやすさゴドレイたちの曲より５割増な曲が交互に並びまくりで、資質＆方向性異なる各々メンズの魅力、味わえまっす！特にサイコッ！なのは、やっぱ超有名YEAH!な１０cc的これ俺たちの自慢な傑作バラハァ〜ド「I'm Not In Love」っしょ！バックで無限宇宙的に拡がりまくりなコ〜ラスは、ビィ〜チ・ボ〜イズもびっくりな素晴らし具合、堪能させてくれまっす！他のレビュァ〜の方も仰られてるっすが、一流じゃねえけど、やっぱおもしれぇ〜ぇぇぃ…バンドっす！1０cc、やっぱサイコサイコサイコッ！YEAH!!
