この'87年のシャトレは、パフォーマンス的にもとても充実していると言える。このVol.2はライヴのクライマックスであり、どの曲も聞き逃せない。DVD版は曲順がシャッフルされている上に、肝心の「Gottingen」でカットがある。このCD版も、同曲をLP(アナログ)版と比べれば、印象的な後奏が、短すぎて物足りない。同曲で終わるLPやDVDと違い、再アンコールの「Lily Passion」につなぐため、あっさりとしたものである(可能ならば、聴き比べるのも面白い)。
このVol.2の出出しは、「o mes theatres」(これも「Lily passion」のナンバー)から。ジャック・ブレルの'58年の作品「litanies pour un retour」に倣ったのか、「私の〜」の羅列で書かれた秀逸な作品。因みに、この曲は、DVDのみ別テイクが収録されている(私は、このCDのテイクの方が良いと思う)。続く「Remusat」は同曲のベスト・パフォーマンスだと思う。
「l'ile aux mimosas」は、「Lily Passion」の劇中歌の中でも、メイン・テーマと言い得る名曲で、「sid'amour a mort」(Vol.1収録)とともに、'80年代のバルバラを代表する作品と言えるが、この'87シャトレ盤は、同曲の最高のパフォーマンスとして、ぜひお薦めしたいと思う(これは、映像も秀逸。DVDが見れるのならぜひ)。「le soleil noir」も迫力のある絶唱。クゥプレとルフランの落差が絶妙で、ベストと言っても良い。
終盤は定番曲がズラリと並び、それぞれが、とても素晴らしいパフォーマンスで感動する。「l'aigle noir」はアンコール第1曲目だが、ここから再び始まる、という感じで良い。なお、本割り最終曲「le mal de vivre」の後奏に引き続き、「l'aigle noir」開始までにアコーディオンで奏される曲は「valse Franz」。ジャック・ブレル(主演・監督・脚本・音楽)と共演した想い出の映画「Franz」('71)の中で、彼と踊ったワルツがこれである。作曲はブレルとフランソワ・ローベール。そして、今、舞台上で演奏しているのは、ブレルゆかりの大家マルセル・アゾーラ。このトリビュートは今回にとどまらず、'90モガドール、最後の'93シャトレでも行われた。バルバラは、次の'90モガドールにて、新曲「Gauguin」を発表したが、これは映画「Franz」の想い出もこめられており、後に、「ブレルへの手紙」という副題が付けられた。
