「嬉しくて、言葉にできない…」そんなめぐり会えたことに感謝をしたくなる、ある歌の歌詞そのままの得難い至福。人は一生の内にどれだけそんなものと出会えるでしょう。私にとってEva Cassidyの歌は、確実にそういうものの１つです。

　それが決して誰にもそう多くはないことを考えると、彼女の短い生涯や残された作品の少なさも相まって、その歌がより一層貴重なものに感じられます。きっと多くのファンにとっても同様なのではないでしょうか。

　Evaの声は、聴く者の中心にまっすぐに届いて響きます。魂が心がそしてどこまでも拡がって、一緒に飛んで行くのです。

　フィギュアスケートのミシェル・クワンのエキシビションで、「Fields of Gold」を初めて耳にした時、何て声だろうと思いました。こんな歌手がいるのかと。あの美しい歌声と旋律、演技との見事な融け合いには、本当に涙が出ました。

　心から「ありがとう」を伝えたくても、応えてくれるその人はもういない…。他に数多くの素晴らしい歌手が存在するとしても、これほどの想いをさせてくれる歌手はそういないと思います。彼女の歌は、たとえいつ誰が聴いても、きっと惜しみない讃辞を与えられるでしょう。尽きない哀惜よりももっと強く、人々の至福の感謝の想いは、それこそEvaの「Over the Rainbow」の歌のように、天へとかかる虹の橋を渡って、彼の人の元にいつまでも届き続けるに違いありません。

”Songbird”、１月前に購入しましたが、以来毎晩のように聴いています。何かとても優しく、幸せな気持ちになれる、そんなアルバムです。”声が良くて歌が上手い”プロのとして当然な要件ですが、こう言い切れる歌手の何と少ないことか。この点で　Eva　Cassidy は正に本物のプロであると思います。これ程の歌手が、生前余り世に知られていなかったのは、とても不思議でそして残念な気がします。追加で購入したEvaのもう１枚のアルバム”time after time”、こちらもお薦めです。

本当に素晴らしいです。

最後の曲のOver the Rainbowは涙が出てきそうになりました。
私の中ではEvaのOver the Rainbowが一番ベストです。

もうEva Cassidyは亡くなっていて、ライブでは聴くことが出来ないので、いろいろな人に彼女の歌声を聞いてもらいたい！です。
