1991年に同じタイトルで日本盤が発売されていますが、98年に発売された本作は、収録曲が異なります。それだけでなく、同名の曲でもアレンジがかなり異なりますので、全く別のアルバムと考えて良いと思います。ただし、どちらもタイトルが『Page Of Life』なので、混乱しますね。
国内盤には収録されていない「Change We Must」は名曲ですので、この輸入盤も購入されることをお勧めします。

5.0 out of 5 stars CD収集の醍醐味溢れるマニアックな一枚, 2006/11/14
ジョン&ヴァンゲリスの大ファンで、入手できるアイテムは何でも手を出してきた。しかしこういう謎の一枚に出会うと狐に抓まれたような気持ちになる。裏バージョンというべきか…。原盤(オリジナルバージョンという意味)から明らかにヴァンゲリスが作編・演奏に関わっていないであろう「Is it Love」をカットし、ジョンのソロ作品としてオーケストラとの共演バージョンが発表されている「Change we must」を収録している。この曲はジョン&ヴァンゲリス作曲という名義で発表されており、先の原盤発表のおりは収録時間の関係などでお蔵入りになってしまっていたのか?その他の曲に関してはアレンジやミックス、ボーカルのテイクに若干の違いがあるものと、ほぼ原盤通りのものがある。「Shine for me」などは明らかに別テイクでこちらのバージョンはデモ的な雰囲気だが、原盤よりゴスペル色がより強い。一番違うのは「Wisdom chain」で10分を超える大作となっている。冒頭から6分間、如何にもヴァンゲリスらしい壮大なスケールのイントロが加わっており、その後、ボーカルテイクやアレンジ、ミックスに若干の違いがある同曲が始まる。しかし、冒頭のイントロは原盤全体の雰囲気からすると明らかに世界感を異にする。だから原盤ではカットされたのだろう。しかしなんなんだ、この非公式っぽい一枚は…。ブート盤的な雰囲気を持ちながら、ここでしか聴けない音源が素晴らしい状態で収録されており、どういう経緯でこのアルバムが発売されたのか意味が分からない。しかしこのアルバムは「買い」でしょう。ジョン・アンダーソンはむしろこちらのバージョンで発表したかったのかも知れない…。見つけ次第買っておかないと、これはすでに「幻の作品」です。
