イーグルスのベスト盤って、これまでたくさん発売されていてどれがいいか迷ってしまうことがあると思いますが、とりあえず最初に買って聞くなら「テイクイットイージー」と「デスペラード」と「ホテルカリフォルニア」の入ったこのアルバムがお勧めです。
ベスト盤なので多少くどいですが、イーグルス特有の爽快感がベスト盤のくどさを低減してくれています。

　ウエストコースト・サウンドの最高峰イーグルスの一番良いベスト。他にもベスト盤は出ていますが、選曲も構成もこれが最良。入門盤としてお勧め。
　ライブなどでも実に高い演奏力を見せるバンドですが、特にドン・ヘンリーの哀愁あふれる声がいい。また乾いた風のような特有のサウンドは、夜のドライブにぴったりだと思う。

ベスト盤の「７１-７５」を飽きるぐらい聞いていると、やはり「ホテル・カリフォルニア」が足りない。僕には７６年以降は「ホテル・カリフォルニア」だけでいいと思っているので、大幅な重複は覚悟でこれを購入。７６以降の曲もそこそこの出来ですが、なにか物足りなさを感じる１枚です。もう少し配列を工夫した方がよかったのではと。中弛みを途中で感じる。緊張感が続かないという気がしてます。ランダム・シャッフル機能を使って聞けばまた別の楽しさが出ます。１曲１曲はいい曲オンパレードです。
