私が待ちに待ったＹＭＯのライブ作品！
渡辺香津美のギターもそのまま！
かつて「公的抑圧」でのライブはイミテーションだと嘆いていましたが、やっと本作品がリリースされ涙が出る程うれしかった記憶があります。
たまたまＣＤショップで目にしてうれしさのあまり持っていたお金全部はたいて入手しました。

聴いた瞬間、当時ラジオで聞いたグリークシアターのライブそのままでカセットテープでしか残っていなかったライブパフォーマンスがＣＤで聞けたときの感動は今でも言葉に表せません！私が一番聴きたかったＹＭＯのパフォーマンスがここにあります。レコーディングでの彼らよりもともとセッションマンであった彼らの真髄がここにあります。

「え？ライディーンってこんなにグルーブしてましたっけ？！」と新鮮な驚きに感涙！ベースラインが渋いっす！！

「YMO＝テクノ＝スタジオ的」というのは誤解です。
やっぱ、ライブが命でしょ、音楽は。

途中、明らかに坂本教授が「はずしかけて立ち直る」アドリブやスタジオレコーディングにはないフレーズあるいは「手癖」が見え隠れするのもライブ盤の醍醐味でしょう。
改めてこのユニットの凄さを痛感いたしました。いやはや、参りましたです。

ただ、初の海外公演、それも前座であった所以か、歓声に混じって「引っ込め！」的な野次（"We want more hard one!!"）が聞こえるような気がするのですが・・・。それだけ「前衛的」だったということですかねぇ。
同じ理由で曲数が少ないのも残念。もっと聴きたいよぉぉ！

既にお馴染みのYMOファンにとって、これほどたくさんのライヴアルバムが発売され、なお、
それらが魅力的な理由は、ツアーごとに楽曲のアレンジメントを完璧に変えてしまう、
彼等の恐るべき感覚によるところが大きいのはご承知のことだろう。
曲によっては、坂本龍一がメロディーを奏でるまで、何の曲かまったく分からない時もあり、
その瞬間の感動は「テクノドン・ライヴ」収録の「中国女」で、オーディエンスの歓声に聴くことができる。
ものによっては原曲を超えた出来映えを見せることすらあるので、仮に、どのヴァージョンの「東風」が、
もっとも美しいかを語る際に、ライヴテイクの数ヴァージョンを外して考えることはありえないだろう。
YMOのライヴアルバムは、その点を了解された上!で紹介されなければならない。

ライヴアルバムとしてポピュラーなものは
・「フェイカー・ホリック」
・「コンプリート・サーヴィス」
・「ライヴ・アット武道館」
あたりだと思う。これにマニアの一枚を加えるなら「ウィンターライブ」だろうか。
しかし、以上の４枚を以てしても、この「グリーク」の素晴らしさにかなうものではない。
ポイントは、音質。この一点でまったく抜きんでている。
収録曲の「コズミック・サーフィン」は、既に「フェイカー・ホリック」に
同テイクが入っているが、この二つを聴けばすぐに分かる。
比較的音質が良いとされる「ライヴ・アット武道館」ですら、
「グリーク」を聴いてしまった後では霞んでしまうかもしれない。
聴いた瞬間、上の４枚を聴いた人で!あれば、感動することを保証する。
