七三分けしたジョンのモノクロ写真が載っている。
何も感じてない人のようにも深く悩んでいるようにも見える。
モヒカン、スキンヘッド、長髪、さまざまなジョンを見てきたが、彼の内にある芸術的な衝動や苛立ち、ロマンティシズム、狂気といったものが、その大人しい青年の横顔に象徴されているようだ。

現在発表されている全３作の中で最もディープな内容だ。
他作品をご存じの方でも本作を聴くには体力がいる（私が1枚通しで聴くのは、3年に1回ぐらい・笑）。
多分にマスターベーション的だが、メインボーカルが刹那的なだけでバックは意外にしっかり作り込まれていたりする。
彼の美意識が反映されているともいえる。
根が真面目すぎる人だけに、かなり痛々しく響くが。
因みに、#10にはDavid BowieのChangesのイントロが一瞬サンプリングされている。
当時の彼は自分を変えたかったのだろうか。
現在の（一応）元気なジョンがあって、よかった。

　レッチリの動向とは無関係にひっそりとリリースされたジョン･フルシャンテのセカンド･アルバム。元レッチリという経歴からなのか、インディーでのリリースでもあるにもかかわらず当時大手ワーナーから日本盤も出された。

　リリース当時某音楽誌でめったにない0点を付けられてしまったという悲しい過去があったが、全く理解に苦しむ。確かにこのアルバムは万人向きとは全く言えない内容ではあるけれども、当時のジョンの心境がストレートに伝わってくる傑作だと思う。例え本人がこのアルバムを気に入っていないとしてもだ。

　このアルバムは、彼のドラッグ沈溺の進み具合とまるで歩調を合わせるかのように前作以上に強烈な異臭が漂う内容となっている。おそらくまともな生活などほとんど出来てはいない状態だったのではないか。1曲目のUnder a uh(曲調といいあのUnder the bridgeと何か関係があるのだろうか？)のあまりにも強烈な歌声から始まり、以降の曲も前作以上の眩いまでのサイケデリック臭が漂う。一曲一曲があまりにもソウルに満ちている為、もしくは込められている量がはんぱでは無い為に思わず耳を塞いでしまう方もいらっしゃるかもしれない。独りよがりな部分も無いとはいえないが、ここまで無防備に自らをさらけ出したアルバムにはそうそう出会えないだろう。あのジェフ･バックリーの遺作「素描」のプライベート録音に匹敵する切なさがここにはある。7のI'm Alwaysはストレートな歌心が伝わってくる素晴らしいバラードだ。

　本人が気に入っていない事もあってか、再発されるかどうかは分からないけれど、もしも機会があれば是非一度聴いてみてほしい。聴くのには多少体力を要するかもしれないがフルシャンテのソロの中でも最もソウルフルなアルバムだと確信している。

自分の中でジョン作中最高傑作だと思う。最近の連続リリースの明るい曲調も悪くないがこの地獄のような曲のほうが私には向いている。
彼は最近になってこのアルバムの素晴らしさに気付いたそうで、今はまだ絶版になっているが再版することにしたらしい。
１ｓｔが好きな人にはたまらないアルバムになると思う。
