Robert FrippほどBrian Enoと相性の良い人はいないですね。今でもそう思います。まあ、FrippはEnoのテープループシステムに触発されて後のFrippertronicsへと発展していくわけですが。このアルバムはEnoとFrippのコラボレーションの２作目です。内容は明確なメロディやリズムはなく、今でこそ、アンビエントとして確固たる地位を築いているジャンルですが、この当時はとてつもなく前衛的なアルバムだったのですね。テープループの効果により、眠くなるというか単調です。でも、私はFrippのあのブゥーンと唸るような感じのギター音が好きで好きでしょうがないのです。ですので聴いていても気持ちよさを感じます。そういう意味ではこれは私にとって、またとない癒し系なアルバムなわけです。wind on waterはシーケンサーのようなタンジェリンドリーム的な音。初期タンジェリンって感じ。好きなのはevening starです。ジャケットは美しく、彼らの明確なコンセプトが現れているよう。

フィリップ＆イーノの２ｎｄアルバムです。２ｎｄちゅうのはつらい立場にあるんですよね。１ｓｔがよければいいけど、よくなかったり、趣味にあわなかったりすると、３ｒｄで爆発でもせんかぎり、どんなによくても聴いてもらいにくい。

キングクリムゾンからここへきた人は１ｓｔ聴いてからこっちきてると思いますのでいいんですが、イーノの美しさにひかれてＦ＆Ｅの１ｓｔいった人はひょっとするとがっかりしてるかもしれません。そういう人、この表題作聴いてください。（しまった。こういうことは１ｓｔのところに書かなくては意味ないか）

表題作、ジャケのように美しいです。試聴では短すぎてわかりません。ツボにはまったときのイーノの美しさにうたれたことのある人、どうしても「イブニング・ス!!ター」だけは聴いてください。目頭あつくなりまっせ、ほんまに。

もちろんこんなCDをAMAZONで探す人は私よりもよく知っている特異なマニアだけですが（笑）、一応説明を。
ブライアンイーノはブライアンフェリー、フィルマンザネラなど豪華布陣のロックバンド、ロキシーミュージックのメンバーでした。
ロバートフィリップはプログレッシブロック雄、泣く子も黙るキングクリムゾンのリーダ。

そしてこのアルバムはその二人によるアンビエントミュージック（空気のようなふわっとした音楽）です。
ですので、二人の所属していたバンドのイメージでこのアルバムを買うと失敗します（笑）。まあ、クリムゾンはそんな感じの音楽をしていますし、イーノもソロを知っている人は驚かないでしょうけれど。

そんなメンバーのことは関係なくこのアルバムを聞いてください。
!美!しい、素晴らしく美しい電子音の響きをお求めの音楽ファンにはお勧めです。
