わたし、わたし…イーノさんの曲のすごいファンで、あの、ロキシーお止めになって、でもロキシー色微かに残して、でもフェリーさん（あぁ、フェリーさんも素敵！）とは違った温か味のある音世界つくってた、ロック歌手時代のイーノさん好きなんですの…思い切って言いますわ、このアルバムはイーノさんのロック時代の最高な素敵な1枚ですわ、ヴォーカル素敵ですもの、牧歌的で痺れます、今宵も添い寝していただく積りな1枚です…あぁ、でもこんなにイーノさんに執心していることを主人に知られたら、わたし、わたし…

1974年発表。イーノのソロ・ロック・ミュージシャンとしてのセカンド、前作同様ロバート・ワイアット他腕利きが参加している。
前作より一層イーノの考えるポップさが増したアルバムになっている。よく言われることだが、イーノがロキシー・ミュージックを脱けないでアルバムを作って行ったらこうなるんじゃないかと言った感じがこのアルバムが最も濃く出ている気がする。
一方でイーノはオブスキュア・レーベルでもう一人の自分を同時進行で開示し続けている。この段階でオブスキュア・レーベル全アルバム(おそらく10枚・・・・何でこれが全部CDで復刻されないのかホントに不思議)を発表しきっていて、次のアンビエントに向かう段階にさしかかっている。2つの同時進行の現在進行形をまるで別人格のようにこなしていくイーノは既にこの段階で只者ではない。
僕の部屋にはこの時期ビデオ映像の実験をしているとおぼしきイーノの白黒写真が飾ってあるのだが、やっていることがすでに20年先を行っている。本作ではただのロック・ミュージシャンみたいな顔をしたがっているが、とんでもない曲者である。そこがいいのだが・・・・（●＾o＾●）。

イーノは自分の「弱さ」と「はかなさ」を楽しんでいるとしか思えない。
イーノといえばやはりブライアン・フェリーを思い出す。同じ資質のミュージシャンなのに生き方は正反対なのだ。二人とも両生類のフニャフニャシンガーなのに、イーノは自分のアブノーマルさ加減が好き。フェリーは自分のアブノーマルさ加減に悩み、傷つく。
イーノは人を癒す。へんてこりんで規格はずれの音楽をクリエイトしてもそれは私たちを癒し名盤になってしまう。そこに同じタイプの才能が集まって、彼らをプロデュースして異端児の輪を広げる。暇な人は「トーキングヘッズ」や「ボウイ」のアルバムも聞いてください。
本作は無国籍サウンドをバックに中性的なヴォーカルでのほほーんと歌っているイーノがいます。そしてそれは誰が聞いても楽しめる普遍的なポップスなのです。
こんなにアブノーマルなのにオーソドックスなアルバムを私は聞いたことがありません。褒めてるんですよ。
